Recommended: The theme of love in Shakespeare's plays

A Midsummer's night dream.

In the play, Midsummer’s night dream written by William Shakespeare. Shakespeare explored love and magic with many of the characters that experience love and magic during the process of crafting a play within a 4 day festival of pomp and entertainment for Theseus and Hippolyta’s wedding.

Between all the wedding planning Egus an Athenian nobleman marches into Theseus court with his daughter, Hermia and Two Men, Demetrius and Lysander. Hermia is expected to marry Demetrius but she wants to spend her life with her love Lysander and wants to refuse her father's orders because she loves Lysander. Although her punishment is her head is off Lysander wants them to run away to his aunt some several leagues distance away from the city.They make intentions known with Hermia's friend Helena who was once engaged with Demetrius but still has love and affection for him. Hoping to get Demetrius back Helena tells Demetrius their plan. When Lysander and Hermia set of Helena follows behind Demetrius who was following Lysander and Hermia into the Woods. …show more content…

They loved each other. Demetrius was loved by Helena. Helena still had feelings for Demetrius but he had to follow the Nobleman's order despite who he loved or wanted to marry. Night came and Hermia found a spot and thought that for the best Lysander should lie away from her. While they’re sleeping Demetrius and Helena are still on the lookout Demetrius gets annoyed at Helena for following him and runs away to sleep. Helena continues to look and trips over a sleeping
