Everyone faces obstacles in their daily lives which try to restrain people from prospering. However, these obstacles never stop them from succeeding. This idea is used in The Odyssey by Homer and O’Brother, Where Art Thou by the Coen Brothers. The epic poem and the film revolve around two protagonists who desire to return home to their wife and children. On their journey, they face several challenges. Each of these obstacles that slow the protagonists down are shown in different ways between the two stories, but they are related. These relations are shown in the Odyssey and in O’Brother Where Art Thou through the Lotus Eaters being the people in the river, Charybdis representing the KKK, and King Aeolius symbolizing the blind man in the
The video MIDWAY a message from the Gyre: a short film by Chris Jordan gave me the chills and ultimately upset me. In the beginning of the short film the diretor shows us a glimpse of the seagulls that inhibit Midway Island, North Pacific Ocean, an Island that is more than 2,000 miles from the nearest continent. Jordan includes a clip of a mother gull feeding her baby gull before showing us snapshots of dead gulls with trash and plastic in their bodies. When i first saw these pictures I honestly thought that the photogragher arranged random pieces of plastic found on the isand into a dead seagull’s body. After the snapshots the director included a video of the photographer cutting open in a seagull’s body and taking random objects and pieces of plastic out. When I saw this my heart broke, I was in disgust and mad at us humans. The poor birds dying shown in the following clips were also very sad and graphic. These innocent birds are consumming

Sicario is a 2015 film starring Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro. The movie is directed by Denis Villeneuve and is a realistic take on the war against drugs on the border of US and Mexico. In many aspects this is a perfect movie: editing, acting, movement, photography and sound. Though the story is nothing to write home about, the subject matter remains serious enough to write to Obama about. As crucial as it is to win the war on drugs the movie does a great job at showing the dark underbelly of the US secret operations. Not everything is done by the books and the events that do make it onto the news may be a glossy fabrication of propaganda. The story does not have major plot twists or jaw dropping story elements and that is what makes it grounded. The plot understands what it is and makes room for the real hooks of the movie.

Coffey appears to never wear shoes and has jean overalls with holes in it. He also has markings that look like whip marks on his arm. Feeling the pain of the world, He looks up to heaven, angels, and Saint Christopher as his way out of this violent and hellish place just like slaves prayed for a better world in heaven.
In our film The Clock Is Ticking, by Ashley Angel, Dayana Borja, Raquel Garcia, and Vanessa Saldivar, the film shows Kat giving instructions to the soldiers using two shot, eye level, and pan to show the authority that Kat seems to have within this group of soldiers. Kat seems to be the father figure of the group trying to watch over them as his own. For example, he was the one to guide them to go out to find resources they needed, and he did the hard work around the village. Nonetheless, because Kat shows leadership skills, the soldiers look up to him more than a leader and a mentor.
After his chaplaincy experience, Green said he believed that "life is utterly random and capricious, and arbitrary." Yet he also said, after finishing The Fault in Our Stars that he no longer feels that life's randomness "robs human life of its meaning...or that it robs even lives of people who don't get to have full lives." In this modern version of the story “Romeo and Juliet”, the main theme that is commonly expressed throughout the novel is meaning and to add to this unsolved problem, the main star-crossed lovers stare death in face while doing so. Hazel and Gus, main characters in “The fault in our stars” by John Green, both struggled with their internal battles of finding self worth and meaning in their cancer filled lives. Before
