A. I Should NOT Be Regulated

Over the decades, A.I. has been advancing at an exponential rate and has been causing major global debates. Due to the fear that it will eventually take over human labor, certain groups of people have been protesting and wanting A.I. to be regulated so that they can feel a sense of relief as to how far companies can go with this new technology. There are also other groups that believe that "different kinds of A.I. require different regulations" (Suraj Srinivas, a Ph.D. student in Deep Learning). So far we have achieved a lot of new and impressive things with A.I., like self-driving cars, voice-powered personal assistants, behavioral algorithms, suggested searches, etc. Artificial Intelligence has affected us globally in the sense that it has …show more content…

Some agree that it should be fully regulated, others say it should not be regulated at all, and some say to a certain extent for our safety and privacy. In my opinion, I believe that A.I. should be regulated to a certain extent because yes, we do need to advance but the more advanced we get the crazier people get with everything that’s new. I think we need to have certain regulations in play to make sure that everyone is safe and not in any danger as we continue to advance. We are at the weakest stage (ANI) of Artificial Intelligence as of right now and nothing has happened for strict regulations to be put on it but as a precaution before anything happens we should get regulations, not to slow down the process of advancement, but to make sure that as we continue about this and keep creating that we are safe and out of harm’s way from people who may what to take these advancements and use them for their own benefit; then who knows what can happen. As stated before, individuals believe that the more we advance the more regulations need to be placed to keep it under control and not have it get out of hand, others are in the middle, and other groups are completely against any types of regulations because they believe that the more regulations we have the slower and more time it will take us to advance. A.I. will continue to develop and get more advanced as time continues, it is now a question of how will the regulations be put into play if there will be
