A Career In The Sports Field

As an ISFJ personality type, I value tradition, loyalty, and independence. I struggle with grasping abstract concepts, and therefore find any type of research field or strategy fields too intangible. Therefore, I tend to prefer companies that are established in well-developed long-standing fields with a history of success. In addition, I have had a passion for sports since I was young. Whether it was playing or watching them, sports are how I bonded with my Dad. This childhood interest turned into an adult passion, and I found myself more and more interested with what goes on behind the scenes of a game as well as the game itself. My value of tradition, loyalty, and independence along with my passion for sports combined to lead me to investigate a career in the sports field. I found everything I valued there- tradition, stability, and success to name a few. I would prefer a position with a specific professional team, despite that being the hardest position to acquire because of the high turnover rate. Most sports teams are well-established organizations that value the traditions they have followed since their earliest years. Even if a team is new, the league they become a part of is not. The field is - for the most part - tangible, which is essential for me. The high turnover rate signals loyalty to the workers already in the organization, as well as positions left being filled primarily by people already in the organization as well.
