In the article of “8 Reasons Parents Don’t Vaccinate ( And Why They Should)”, written by Tara Haelle from Parent Magazine, giving their audience the common myth of vaccination. The most common myth parent may or may not believe in are- vaccines in general is toxic, dangerous, and doesn't work for young children. Vaccinations are used to help young children protect or prevent from life threatening diseases. Haelle provide the facts of what vaccines can do and cannot do. She also stresses that, many parents skip vaccinations due to safety reasons, they are afraid because scientists said that it comes with little risks. She proclaims that parent focus more on the negative effects rather than a positive outcome. Parents cannot put risk into their perspective and realize that vaccines for your child is to tell the truth a great decision. I questioned my mother, what was the point of having a vaccine shot if I get sick, when the function of vaccines is too prevent viruses and deadly disease. She responded that, you get a mild cold, so the body immune system can recognize the cells. If the cells enter your body again, they will always know how to attack them and recognize it, and therefore preventing you to get sick. What is ironic was that my mother would never get vaccination. My mother claims that she never gets sick and her reasoning is that “why be vaccinated when I do not get sick.” What is strange is that it is true, growing up, it was rare that my mom would get ill. My mother only decided to vaccinate her children, because she wanted us to be healthy and she believed that it would prevent threatening
