Katsumi Hayakawa’s painting titled 3C Cubic Fractal was painted on an oil canvas in 2005 and is currently hanging in the Lunder arts Center at Lesley. The piece is painted with earthy tones and the cube that is the main point of focus has smudged/blurry edges. Society starts to have a bigger impact in the adolescent’s life and tends influence identities, the adolescent may follow societal norms or breakaway and reject the norms. For an adolescent that rejects societal norms finding a peer group/acceptance from others can be difficult and lead to self-consciousness and low confidence.
For some in this developmental stage it can be hard to find an identity and they may become confused; these adolescents tend to feel as though they are lost and will often change jobs and relationships as they are not sure what they want in life. Confusion is often felt by these adolescents as they can feel they have no place.

I can also imagine an adolescent who is feeling as though they have no place or purpose in the society they are surrounded by having their life seem blurred or as though it is moving away from them with their childhood friends that they no longer seem to connect
