1. What severe problems do these children face?
Children in poverty face many educational difficulties.
2. How could these problems impact their learning?
Student are distracted from their education because they are worried about their next meal or whether they would have shelter to house themselves. As a result, many students drop out of school and seek employment to make ends meet.
3. What could you as a teacher do to motivate these children and maximize their learning potential?

Latchkey children struggle educationally because they do not have a support system at home to help with their academics.

2. How could these problems impact their learning?

These problems could impact their learning because students wouldn’t practice or complete homework especially if there is no one there to help them. Students would spend majority of their time watching T.V. or roaming the streets.

I could encourage these students to enroll in an afterschool program, so they could receive enrichment in classes they are performing poorly in.
