Beginning of the nineteenth century was very chaotic because during this period very important changes took place and the world was redesigned. Boundaries changed new countries emerged, new ideologies emerged and all this led to the new world. The most chaotic place was Europe as the great emperor Napoleon was leading his numerous armies to different locations and fighting the bloodiest battles Europe had not seen before. He was able to flip the power scale over and establish new ideology of nationalism and fulfill his nation with pride. Napoleon’s large scale operations needed a lot of supply. To do so they began naval blockade. British were using its Royal Navy to accomplish such a task. Americans were very dissatisfied as in their mind it was seen as a disobedience to the international law. Furthermore British sailors were forcing American citizens to serve in the British navy. Cases such as Chesapeake–Leopard Affair inflamed anti-British sentiment. In 1811, the British were in turn outraged by the Little Belt Affair, in which 11 British sailors died. These facts made the government of the United States feel very angry and provoked desire to go to war against British. They were still angry about British rule which had left very bite memories from the period of their revolution in 1775. Their government made decision to attack Brittan. To harm Brittan they tried to invade its colony, Canada. It was close to them and was very important for British. On June 18, 1812, President James Madison, after receiving heavy pressure from the War Hawks in Congress, signed the American declaration of war into law . Americans attacked Canada.
