Changes throughout the decades were very common. Coming from very modest times before the 1900s, to revealing little by little all throughout the 1900s into the 2000s. Many things changed, but only some really had a meaning behind them. The changing of women's fashion wasn’t only to better their looks but it was for a much bigger reason that in the end it would spark a change forever. When women thought about their fashion, the changes they made over the years was to show rebellion.
To illustrate, the time before showing curves and coming into full rebellion was the time of full modesty. Before the 1920s women were expected to wear clothes that covered almost every part of their body. For the most part, no skin was allowed to be exposed other …show more content…

By this time the rules of how clothes had to fit had changed very little. While they were working on exposing more skin, they had to do it slowly, little by little. The shape of women was a little less defined and could be more baggy, but willingly with more of an “I don’t care” attitude. Colors of clothes were about the same as before, pastel. More jade green, rose, peach, blues, violet and yellows came into style. In this time, when people wore black it was a sign to show that you were no longer mourning. Prints because very popular, they were solid colors with a specific color combinations. When it came to swim wear, the swimsuits became tighter and more skin was exposed including legs and arms. This was described as much sexier compared to before. Even though, women started wearing swim wear that let their legs out more, the shorts still had to be long enough. On the beaches during the day police would be on patrol and be checking to make sure womens shorts reached allowed length. Hair during this time was bobby, with curls or finger waves throughout.
