Hello today i will be talking about what life was really like in the original 13 colonies in the 1750s. More specifically life in the country and the city. There were two main ways of life If you like a exciting life then the city was for you. However cities were bustling smelly and loud places and 1 out of 20 people lived in them. People had to purchase everything at shops and the market. Cities were often near the waterfront because ships needed a doc to unload shipments from england. Houses were close together and made of wood which made fire a real danger because that was the only way of lighting houses. If that doesn't sound appealing then maybe farm life would have been more fitting

Between 1491 and 1754, the New England, middle, Chesapeake, and southern colonies developed in a way such that they must be viewed as four distinct societies with interlacing interactions and beliefs. These different societies were shaped by the different labor systems and economic characteristics, varying groups of religious founders, and response to salutary neglect and British taxation.
When the United States was still the thirteen colonies, they were characterized into three groups: the New England, the Middle, and the Southern colonies. These three varied in their economic aspects, their politics, social viewpoints, and the religion that was practiced.
In the 17th century, the British colonies still identified themselves as European, but as the colonies expanded and grew more populous, they developed differing geographic, social, and economic systems. This difference between New England, and Chesapeake, is caused by the motivations for settlement between the two regions. While the New England colonies were mainly settled for religious motivations, most notably by the Puritans, the Chesapeake colonies were settled for economic prosperity. Also, while the Chesapeake colonies were mainly settled by individual young men seeking a profit, the New England colonies were settled by families hoping to settle and expand.

In the 1720’s to the 1820’s there were several events, changes, and processes that occurred in America. The three events I am choosing to analyze are: The Great Awakening, The Revolution, and The Market Economy. Each one of these events had a cultural, social and economic aspect. Each one of these events had different impacts and was manifested in several different ways.
During the 1600's, many people in the American colonies led very many different lives, some better than others. While life was hard for some groups, other colonists were healthy and happy. Two groups that display such a difference are the colonists of New England and Chesapeake Bay. New Englanders enjoyed a much higher standard of living. This high standard of New England's was due to many factors, including a healthier environment, better family situation, and a high rate of reproduction.
In 1419, Prince Henry the Navigator of Portugal began the period of time known as the “Age of Exploration”. Europe’s leading superpowers, France, Spain, Portugal, Holland, and England, all competed for colonization in unknown territories. Samuel de Champlain colonized along the St. Lawrence River in 1608, Henry Hudson of Holland established Albany in 1609, and Spain established colonies in Mexico and Mesoamerica. In 1607, England established its first colony in North America around the Chesapeake Bay, and nearly a decade later established a second colony in present-day New England. Both New England and the Chesapeake were founded by the British around the same time; however, both colonies developed a different economy, government, and many other ways of life.

In the 1770's, the 'United States of America' was only the thirteen colonies, and they were still under the protection of Great Britain. They recieved many rights and enjoyed trade from Britain, at little cost to them. However, when Britain started taxing them to pay off their war debt, they decided it wasn't fair. Thus, some of the colonists made it their goal to become independent from Britain, and instead run their own government. Not all of the colonists agreed with this, though. While they weren't a fan of the taxes, they still wanted to be apart of Britain, for reasons previously mentioned. A hundred years later, the thirteen colonies were free from Britain and were named the United States of America. So many things changed within one
The filth of the cities promoted the spread of disease faster than doctors could discover a cure. This encouraged large outbreaks of many deadly diseases. And it is said that throughout this period there were people who went about the cities and towns with wagons calling "Bring out your dead!" in a fashion similar to that of the Medieval era during the bubonic plague (Which, by the way, was not yet a dead disease).
The Pennsylvania Colony was American before it was cool to be American. The Colony of Pennsylvania is important to American History because the colonists there held the beliefs that later molded the Constitution and many of modern Americans beliefs. The belief of freedom of religion is one of the first reasons colonists came over to the Americas in the first place. But unlike the rest of the colonists the Quakers of Pennsylvania really believed that everyone had the right to practice their own religion. This is unlike the rest of the colonies. The people of the Pennsylvania colony also knew the importance of technology and knowledge. With out technology and higher education America would vary greatly from what we know as America today.
During the late 16th century and into the 17th century, European nations rapidly colonized the newly discovered Americas. England in particular sent out numerous groups to the eastern coast of North America to two regions. These two regions were known as the Chesapeake and the New England areas. Later, in the late 1700's, these two areas would bond to become one nation. Yet from the very beginnings, both had very separate and unique identities. These differences, though very numerous, spurred from one major factor: the very reason the settlers came to the New World. This affected the colonies in literally every way, including economically, socially, and politically.
