The Twelve Apostle are a set of limestone stacks. They are the tallest in the world limestone stacks. Some of the limestone rocks are sharper than others They are located in Victoria, Australia. They are off the shore of Port Campbell National Park, near the Great Ocean Road. There really are not 12 rocks there is only eight. But in the future there will be more rocks that will most likely form. Some say that the twelve apostles started to form up 20 million years ago. No one is one hundred percent sure why the American Civil War came to be. However, one theory that repeatedly comes up is the issue of slavery and whether it was just or wrong in America the land of the freedom throughout history and discussions. Charles B. Dew the author of, Apostles of Disunion: Southern Secession Commissioners and The Cause of The Civil War, claims to be a southerner himself and explains his thoughts and education growing up in the south. In his youth, he was taught by his family that the reason the South went to war was to fight for their State’s rights but as an adult he explains that it may not have been the only reason they fought after researching for himself.
Both Mystery and Niagara Cave are made of limestone. Limestone is formed when areas that used to be covered with water, would have contained shelled animals and other organisms. When the animals died, their bodies along with waste matter from other organisms, floated down to the bottom of the water. Over time, it was compressed and formed limestone. The coastal belt of the Franciscan Complex is composed of the youngest and least deformed units and makes up the western quarter of all Franciscan rocks. The rocks of the coastal belt are composed of arkosic sandstones, andesitic graywackes, and quartzofeldspathic graywackes interbedded with radiolarian chert (turbidite deposits) (Blake and Jones, 1981). These sedimentary rocks suggest a depositional environment of deep-sea fan systems with both oceanic and continental provenance. Parts of the belt show evidence of later metamorphism, principally due to subduction. Low-grade blueschist mineral facies are indicated by the presence of minerals such as laumonite and prehnite-pumpellyite (Blake and Jones, 1981). All rock units show evidence of thrust (imbricate) faulting due to the compressional forces of subduction. Ages of the coastal belt run from as little as 40 Ma (Eocene) to as old as 100 Ma (middle Cretaceous).

I am doing my book review on the biography Founding Brothers: the Revolutionary Generation by Joseph J. Ellis, who is a professor at Mount Holyoke College and who also, has graduated from Yale University with his PhD. Ellis is also known for writing American Sphinx: the Character of Thomas Jefferson and American Creation: Triumphs and Tragedies at the Founding of the Republic. St. Teresa was born in Avila, Spain on March 28, 1515. She was baptized as Teresa Sanchez de Cepeda y Ahumada. At a young age she would often give gifts to the poor and pray. Her father and her mother were both Catholics which inspired her to do the same. Her father was a very strict man a demanded her to never lie, while her mother told her to lie and comforted her. This created a ton of turmoil in the family and made St. Teresa end up loving her mother more due to her father’s severe strictness. St. Teresa felt that everything she was doing was wrong. Justin Martyr was a Greek philosopher born in Flavia Neapolis. Having searched many different philosophical traditions for the truth he finally became a Christian after meeting an old man who convinced him of its truth. Following this he continued to wear his philosopher robes and founded a Christian school in Rome. Considered to be the greatest of the apologists, his writings were aimed at proving that Christianity was intellectually superior to Roman paganism. He was executed during the reign of Marcus Aurelius for refusing to sacrifice to the Roman gods, earning him the name Martyr.
The period of the crusades can be seen as one of much death and destruction for minimal gains, without the crusades however, it is very plausible that Europe itself would have been swallowed whole by the invading Muslim armies. As much as the crusades had been seen as valiant efforts by the Christian knights, they also played a crucial part in many terrible acts occurring in the name of them, in particular The Fourth Crusades. Officially titled the Hellenic Republic, Greece is a country whose historical and cultural heritage continues to influence the modern world through art, philosophy and politics. Greece is located in southern europe. Critically placed at the byroads of Europe, Western Asia and North Africa. Greece shares land borders with four countries: Albania, Bulgaria, Turkey, and the Republic of Macedonia. The country is greatly consumed by water to the south with over 1,400 islands, the largest of them being Crete. Over eighty percent of Greece is of mountains, the largest and most culturally significant being mount Olympus, which in Greek mythology is the resting place of the twelve olympians. Greece is a country which is filled with aesthetically pleasing landmarks which have existed for thousands of years and are deemed historically significant. These include, but are not limited to the Parthenon, Acropolis of Athens, Panathenaic stadium, Mount Athos, Sounion (where the temple of Poseidon lays), Temple of Hephaestus and Theatre of Dionysus. These are just a few of the influential landmarks this authentic country possesses.
The Archaic Greeks and Hebrews, two nations of people with very distinct worldviews, were driven to make sense of their vast ever-changing world while trying to survive it. The earlier ancient Hebrews lived nomadically, facing turmoil and enslavement. The Archaic Greeks, coming out of an isolated dark age, began to civilize and grow. Despite having over a millennia difference between their emergences, the need for social and political structure stood paramount. The key differences between the cultures are the way they interpreted and used their separate religions, governed themselves, and created a standard by which to live by.

These lines are, to me, invaluable sections of the Apostle’s Creed. The first one, which is also the first recitation in the creed, clarifies that God is the creator of everything past and present. While this seems simple on the surface, it is an extremely complicated topic when you consider it from all angles. As we discussed last week during group, there innumerable ways of interpreting the creation of the world. Some believe that the world was created in 6 literal twenty-four hour periods, others believe that the creation took place over 6 distinct, but elongated, periods. In addition to that dispute, there is an issue of exactly how much God created. I believe that evolution is a natural process in all life on earth, and that raises the question of whether God created all of the organisms present in this day in time, or if He created only the ancestral species of the organisms on earth today.
