Americans are known for many things; their enjoyment for baseball, their passion for opportunity, and their love for finding the easy way in life. Most of the time, American's like to find ways to make their everyday lives more convenient. Being convenient is the act of proceeding with something with little effort or difficulty. Picture this: a family of five comes home after long days at school/work, and together they create a home cooked meal. After it's created, they all sit down together and share the experiences of their days. As enjoyable as that sounds, that is not the case. Everyday, 1 out of every 4 Americans eat some sort of fast food. In the article, "11 Facts About American Eating Habits," the U.S. Department of Agriculture states that, "Americans spend 10% of their disposable income on fast food every year." Fast food is such a popular industry because it is a quick an easy way to have a meal. Instead of cooking, or making a homemade meal, people would rather pay 5.99 for a meal that is prepared within minutes. What people don't put into consideration is the effects of that meal, involving all the unhealthy ingredients used.
