We use verbal communication, non-verbal communication, written communication and many different forms of. Additionally, communication plays an important role in the process of conveying knowledge as well. In this irrelevant debate about the language form, we are deviating from the intention and purpose of education. To educate, means to make a child fully aware of his environment and open him to the act of thinking. As a well-informed society we should learn to appreciate the beauty of every English form and integrate it into standard form.
The proper use of pronunciation is what helps a message be understood easily by other fluent English speakers. Often times, an ELL student can struggle with forming a word correctly and may cause a word to be pronounced as a different, but similarly sounding word. One example of how the pronunciation of a word can cause a message to be unclear a Spanish speaker pronouncing “kitchen” as “chicken”. These two words are very close in sound, but each word has a completely different meaning. A mother that asks a child to “please clean the kitchen” greatly differs from the mispronounced word that has changed the sentence to “please clean the chicken”. There are many speech therapy courses that are offered in schools that will improve a child’s ability to speak productively. In the oral language speech by ELL student Tania, the Spanish student faces challenges while pronouncing “stories about magic, vampires “. These impediments can be worked on and improved over time. The grading scale of pronunciation on a rubric can range from insufficient in the result of being virtually unintelligent; to excellent, being that it pleasantly uses intonation and pronunciation as accurately as a native speaker
Last point is that English is the most common international language which helps people from different countries to communicate easily . Also because of the difficult economic status in some countries, many candidates around the world aim to study, work and live in foreign countries because it offers better life environment and in fact those countries are encouraging people to settle in . Obtaining correct pronunciation is essential when talking to patients or colleagues because if you mispronounce a word the person you are communicating with may interpret something completely different. This also applies to having clear enunciation where if you do not say a word clearly, someone may not comprehend anything you are saying. Knowing your point and purpose is also a significant part of having verbal communication skills because when speaking, having an idea
Over a billion people throughout the world are learning or speaking English (Pike, 2013). Plenty of people share their opinions in English on social media. International conferences are usually held in English, ranging from education, technology and entertainment. Recent years, the governments throughout the world have tried to create an environment to allow young people begin to study English in elementary school. Now, it is easier to see the importance of English.
Foreign language skills could have a positive impact on race relations in America. The number of minorities in America is rapidly increasing. In fact, "minority" groups will soon form a collective "majority" of the citizens in America. Considering the facts that many minority groups speak English as a second language and America has no official language, compulsory foreign language classes are viable options. Of course, opponents of mandatory foreign language courses will say that immigrants and naturalized citizens should learn and speak the "de facto" official language of the United States--English. It is a valid point, but misses the bigger picture. People who speak English as a second language are already bilingual, while American-born students typically are not. Language is the most fundamental aspect of a culture. Students who learn the not-so-foreign language of the predominant minority group in their region of the country will gain at least some insight into the different culture of their neighbors and perhaps have a better understanding of them at the personal level. If we take these bits of insight and understanding and couple them with compassion, fertile ground for multicultural harmony in America will be sown. While foreign language skills can improve domestic affairs, the same can be said of foreign affairs.
I am currently a sophomore at the University of California, Davis. Due to its diversity, I was able to encounter and meet a lot of international students in this school. Back when I was a freshman, I spoke to many international students and I notice that many of them excel in different courses such as math and science. Yet many international students disclosed to me that they struggle in English like me. Most of the students that I spoke have a difficulty in learning the context thought. This led me to what may be the cause of this problem such as the fast phase of the class and also not requiring international students to learn an additional language such as Spanish.
I am taking AP Literature and Composition for many reasons, but the main reason is to make my grandmother proud. She used to be an AP english teacher herself and I just want her to be happy for me. The other perks for taking this course is to challenge myself and be more prepared for college. I believe that I could get a higher score on my ACT by taking this class. I hope to be able to read and comprehend words fast and efficiently. Also to improve my writing skills and spelling, I am really bad at spelling. Lastly, I want to improve my critical thinking skills when reading a story. To accomplish my hopes I can work on practice tests and spelling words. I can also read a book and stop in between certain chapters to think about the author is trying to say.

The present paper attempts to find out the importance English enjoys in India in the present scenario. It tries to examine the back drop in which English [just one of around 6000 languages of the world and 780 in India alone]1 assumes such a significant stature. It deals with the status of English at present: it is the generally accepted language of the graduates; it is the window of opportunities; it improves our languages; it acts as a link among various fields etc. Moreover it is a powerful integrating factor that has compensated for the great language divide existing in our country.
In history, it is displayed that language and globalization can come hand in hand in the means of spreading throughout the world. The English language is mainly spoken in the U.S and Britain as a first-language. However, it is being increasingly spoken around the world everyday as a way of communication. As a result of the British colonialism, the U.S and British pop culture and media, as well as the economic aspect of the world, English has become the global language of communication today. By having so much value and importance, the English language is considered significant in terms of forming ways of globalization and communication. Thus, the result of the three factors influencing the spread of English around the world created a valuable position for the English language to becoming a Lingua Franca.
Stephen Saylor answers you by saying "a clear pronunciation is paramount to making your message understood" Stephen Saylor. In speaking English with natives or non-natives for different reasons (collage or job interviews, asking for directions, making new friends.... Etc.) usually pronunciation plays a major role and gets a lot of attention, to be honest, it is the first and most noticeable feature of your English, Tomasz P. Szynalski supports this in his article "Why you should study English pronunciation" by saying "When you talk to a person in real life, they may not notice your limited vocabulary or grammar mistakes. But they will notice right away if your pronunciation is good or bad" Tomasz P. Szynalski.
