Ever find yourself browsing through the thousands of shows and movies on Netflix, never being able to decide on what to watch. Well you’ll never have to feel indecisive again because the movie Elf is a great solution to this problem. Jon Favreau, the director of the film, is able to successfully appeal to not only a younger audience but also to children and adults alike. He entwines the mystical world of the North Pole to the hard-hitting land of the Big Apple and combines innocence with ignorance through the writing of his script. Elf is a movie that is immensely successful and should be on top of your must-see list. Elf starts out with the introduction to the life of Buddy, an orphaned baby, who would mistakenly crawl into Santa’s sack on Christmas Eve. Buddy would be raised on the North Pole but would soon realize that this wasn’t his place. Santa soon revealed that his true father was still alive, lived in the New York, and most importantly was on the naughty list. …show more content…

For Elf Jon Favreau went with an all-star cast of Will Ferrell, Zooey Deschanel, Peter Dinklage, and James Caan. These actors fill their roles perfectly and create humorous memories that will last a lifetime. In 2003, whenever Elf was released, Will Ferrell was coming off of his great run at Saturday Night Live and accompanied with the great success of Zoolander would make Ferrell the perfect candidate. However, Ferrell’s role wouldn’t have been complete without his other stars. Zooey Deschanel would serve perfectly as Jovie, Peter Dinklage as Miles Finch, and James Caan as Buddy’s father. Their tough New York personalities would often times conflict with the joyous and ecstatic Buddy the Elf, but would be submissive to change throughout the movie.
