It seems today everything is being done electronically, homework, job, and even college applications are submitted online. People learn so much through various types of technology. Years ago in the classrooms there were not as many chances to incorporate technology into the classroom. As the years progress there have been more technological advances yet there is much controversy over whether classrooms should be permitted to have their students learn with the new technological improvements. IPods are helpful to everyday life and could be especially in the classroom, they can be used to help students study meanwhile act as a stimulate to the mind, beneficial towards getting work accomplished and in general becoming technologically advanced. Some argue that they are a distraction, and another way to cheat. While these may be true there are still positives of the emerging products.
To begin IPods are very beneficial outside the classroom but they could take learning to another level inside of the classroom. They are so helpful to help anyone study. Music helps students study well. Research has shown that students actually will retain information better when they have some sort of music to listen to. This is especially true in writing, and arts classes. It seems that in the classroom when teachers let students do things on their own music often acts as a stimulator as well. It is even been shown that music helps stimulate the brain. “The iPod Touch (and the iPhone) is equipped to perform a multitude of complex tasks, many of which can be commandeered to accomplish amyriad of educational objectives.” (Banister)
In addition IPods and I pads could take learning to another level. They are such cool instruments that enhance learni...

Technology in the classroom is more important today than ever before. Today’s children live in a society where just about every child has access to the internet, text messaging and cell phones. Cell phone ownership in children between the ages of 4 to 14 doubled during 2005 and 2008 (Bers, Kazakoff, 2012). In order to hold the current generation’s attention one must stimulate their interests by allowing the...
Technology plays a very important role in today’s society. Everyone has a smart phone and we crave the latest and greatest televisions, computers, cell phones and tablets. Some of these include iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, Samsung Smart TVs, Samsung Smart watches and the new Google Glass. More and more schools are using technology in their teaching methods including our own one-to-one program at Oxon Hill High School where each student received a Samsung Google Chromebook. Technology should be used in school’s curriculum and instruction because of improved communication, innovations to come and convenience to both the students and the teachers.

devices in almost every classroom. Technology enhances learning, boosts confidence, and eliminates geographical limitations. Technology enriches learning by being able to come in different forms and do different things. "For lessons traditionally done with a paper and pencil, we now were able to do them in color, with animation, and with more depth and complexity"(McCollum). Teachers are now able to help stu...
... that also meets one of the main focuses of Knightdale High School. Knightdale High School is a STEM school, which means that there is a huge push for technology integrated lessons. The school has class sets of iPads, Apple laptops, and Legos. Teachers can also create Edmodo sites, and Discovery Learning websites for their students to learn. My plan is to incorporate different types of technology into my lesson plans (film clips, Discovery Ed, Legos, use of the iPads), as well as use different forms technology to communicate with my students (Remind 101). I also plan on using either clickers or Socrative.com which allows students to use their phones as clickers, and complete quizzes. I believe that by integrating technology into my classroom, students will learn 21st century skills, which is a mission of Knightdale High School, and become more engaged in learning.
I think technology is a key component in the classroom, especially for our students to become prepared for the 21st century. In this course, I learned so much for my 2017-2018 4th graders. I have created four products to increase student engagement with the use of technology. Nearpod and Edpuzzle for two different reading lessons, a QR Code lesson for Social Studies, and a Flipped Classroom lesson for math. These products are interactive, exciting, and resourceful.
Placing iPads in learning environments improves the way students learn. This is done by creating an interactive lesson. Chris Rochie researched how iPads affect students in the classroom and found out that the use of iPads makes learning fun for students. This means that students are more likely to be involved with a lesson when an iPad is involved. Research has proven that at-home studying has increased greatly since iPads have been introduced to some classes (Stokes). This creates a high homework completion rate, which raises the student’s grade. Rochie also stated that students receive a more personalized lesson when using the iPads because of the different apps they are allowed to use. Apps allow for unique experiences for each academic scholar, giving everyone their own way to succeed in the class. Giving every student an iPad allows for them to always have the ability to connect to the internet, which is our greatest source for information.
Today’s world is constantly evolving and technological advances are surfacing it seems like every few weeks. Apple has produced the country’s most popular devices and the question has arose whether or not iPads are effective in the classroom. This research project will thoroughly entail the pros of implementing an iPad in the learning environment. As for my personal take on the debate, I side with modernizing education in order to keep up with technology and to preserve the student’s enjoyable learning environment.
Almost everyone attends a school at one time in their life whether the classroom includes technology or not. Research shows that technology isn’t used as often as one might think. The article, “High Access and Low use of technology in High School Classrooms” illustrates the use of technology by stating that only one in ten of elementary and middle school teachers are daily users of computers (Cuban, Kirkpatrick, Peck). Most schools now have classrooms that use technology throughout the entire class time and even at home to do homework. Although some people might agree with the use of technology in class, it is more harmful to the students than useful. It can cause many distractions, it can be difficult to use and can take away from learning time.
Technology is becoming more and more dominant in our society.Everyday upgrades are being made and new innovations are being discovered. Technology is all around us whether we want it to be or not: it is the vehicles we drive, it can be found in our homes, and can even be found in the grocery store.Every place we look there is some type of technology.I believe technology has had a major impact on our school systems and is still impacting it today. There are those who do not agree, though, that technology has impacted our schools.Eric Gormly writes, “In fact, many theorists point out the overall impact of technology on education has been quite small, manifesting little discernible change in the classroom.” [1]Yes, there are some schools that are not as advanced as others, but many of them do have a significant amount of technology in them.I find it fascinating that so much technology has been incorporated into our classrooms, but I believe that, even with all of the positive aspects that are associated with technology, there are some negative and even dangerous aspects that should be taken into account.I will be sharing some of the equipment that has been used in the schools, how both the students and the teachers use the equipment, and also the positive and negative effects that technology has had on our schools.

The development of technology in this country has been significant to the daily lives of Americans today. In the twenty-first century, one of the greatest accomplishments of technology is the use of laptops. People, such as students, are facing the fact that laptops have made their lives easier. Some colleges and universities have allowed that each student bring their personal laptops with internet connectivity to class while others believe they easily weaken the learning abilities of students instead of promoting and increasing learning in the classroom. Although personal laptops in the classroom have numerous advantages, there have also been frequent complaints from professors because laptops hinder with learning, and as a result should be banned from bringing them into the classroom since laptops can easily distract students, not every student can afford purchasing a laptop, and would prevent students from cheating or plagiarizing.

Technology has rapidly changed over the years and has expanded our infrastructure greatly. In particular, as technology advances the education system adapts to the many changes. The world of technology brings about many new improvements and shows no sign of slowing down. Many people spend their day to day lives utilizing the great aspects of technology doing almost anything imaginable. Through technology teachers and students can connect and expound upon the many fields of education. Technology is an ever growing aid in education that has increased awareness, communication, and accessibility. How is technology shaping education? The uses of mobile devices and applications have shown a great influence in the education system.
