It is important that everyone know of the need to improve our energy and water savings and assist in reducing the use of electricity, water, and non-renewable fuel sources. There are a number of non-chemical, non-mechanical water treatment technologies. Many of these are known by names such as electronic, magnetic, electrostatic, electromagnetic, and AC induction. The history of these devices goes back to at least 1952. Claims for and against the effectiveness of such systems have a long history. One would think that if these types of systems were truly effective, then the knowledge of their successful deployment would be common place in the industry. In September 2001 the US Army Corps of Engineers (COE) published TR-01-63, Demonstration and Evaluation of Magnetic Descalers. The COE tested three types of scale prevention devices, two magnetic and one electronic. Stated results were that the quantity and type of scale on tubes protected by the prevention devices was not substantially different from the quantity and type of scale on the unprotected, untreated control tubes. In July 2009 the COE published TR-09-20, Demonstration of Capacitor-Based Water Treatment System for Application at Military Installations. The system tested is named Zeta Rod. Stated results were that the capacitor-based treatment was just as effective as the chemical based treatment for controlling scale, biological fouling, and corrosion. Of note is the fact that no unprotected, untreated control tubes were included in the demonstration. Of course, if the effects provided by Zeta Rod use are achievable as claimed, then the benefits would be advantageous and significant. In "Energy Story," it explains the use of electricity people use in their homes, and what makes it. In the video "Hands-On Science" by AnnMarie Thomas, it shows how to make homemade playdough and compare it to store brand playdough. In "Conducting Solutions" by Rodney Schreiner, it shows how certain ions have positive and negative charges. Michael Shermer writes for Septic magazine, which investigates many different scientific and quasi-scientific controversies. He begins the talk by demonstrating a device called ADE 651. The ADE 651 was sold to the Iraqi government for 40,000 dollars each. It was said to work by electrostatic magnetic ion attraction. Shermer explains how that was simply a big bunch of crock. He discusses how there is a danger to pseudoscience that we can be made to believe in any little thing such as the ADE 651.
Instilling this new way of energy usage into off-grid communities will inevitably increase the state of living for those in cities and other well-populated areas. The city’s water resources being a river, ground water and a reservoir are prone to having hazardous pathogens harmful to anyone who consumes water from the plant. Chlorination in water treatment is a common practice which is used to disinfect water from disease, however, it is known that when microbes attach to or are within particles of water they are protected from chlorine treatments. An alternate solution to chlorine is chloramine. Chloramine is the addition of ammonia to the chlorine compound. Once chloramine becomes in contact with water it is known as monochloramine. According to Gerstein (pg 719. 1931) and Holwerda (pg 719.1928) the germicidal properties were less when ammonia in chloramine was present. Monochloramine lasts a lot longer in water than chlorine therefore protecting the water from disease for a longer period of time. The water supply network consists of numerous pipes that potentially carry disease in them.

That would prevent the release of greenhouse gas emissions equal to that of about 800,000 cars.

Thematic Statement: Today, I will like to persuade you to conserve water in any way you can and to be aware of how fortunate we are to have water compared to other parts of the world. First I will first give you and over view of the issue at hand. Then I will tell you ways that you can help make a difference. And finally I will inform you of the many actions that various organizations are taking to solve this problem.

Water purification can remove all the unnecessary bacteria and viruses from the water that is hazardous for our health. Water purification may also improve the flavor and appearance of water. It removes the unpleasant odor. Therefore, water purification became one of the most useful and popular process used by people all over the world today. It is by far the most recommended and safest water treatment that is commonly used to purify damaged water into consumable water. Water purification provides us with safe, pure and clean water to consume and use.
