Electronic Design for the Time Measurement of a TV Channel
This paper presents a designing an electronic circuit to measure the total time period of a particular TV channel usage. Thus, this circuit will determine usage time of all the available channels. This is going to be very much important to the TV broadcasters, since they concern about number of customers and maximum usage of their TV programs in every day.
All these choices influence whether enough people can be attracted to justify a particular channel. To do an effective job of attracting and keeping listeners or viewers so that they can be delivered to advertisers, broadcasters must know the potential audience. So that each video broadcasters they want to mark their potential service to the customers. Therefore usage time of their channel by customers is unavoidable requirement. Thus this paper presents a research, which is progressed by us to give the systematic solution to the relevant users.
The project is based on a design of microprocessor based electronic circuit, which consists of micro controller, input and output peripherals. Input via IR sensors and Output is display unit. Once the remote controller is selected to a particular channel, then it emits the IR signal. Thus the sensor of the circuit can detect the IR signal and the rest of the circuit will perform the manipulations to get the time duration of the corresponding channel.
1.0 INTRODUCTION
Need of an equipment for measuring the total time period of usage of TV channels is a vital requirement to the broadcasters in order to enhance the program performance of their channel. The goal of this project is to design a microprocessor based circuit gadget to calculate the total time period of a particular TV channel in a real time usage.
In this design, whole project is considered as mainly in three sections. First part is to design an input peripheral, which is a circuit, used to receive a signal, related to each channel and to convert it to a digital form in order to couple with the microcontroller.
Second section is to design a controller circuit, which is used to manipulate all the input data with an existing data of memory.
Although the VCR was first released to the public in 1974, it wasn’t until the early 1980’s that the public began catching on to this new invention. Still, the VCR was the most quickly adopted device of its time. In just three years, the sales of VCR’s jumped from 1.3 million units in 1981 to nearly 8 million units in 1984. The popularity of the household device was quite obvious, but the success of the VCR did not come so easily. Three years earlier, in October of 1981, after some struggle, the US court finally ruled that the home taping of broadcast signals was not an infringement. After that, the VCR quickly became a popular household device across the country (Winston 126-129). “The most common use of the VCR’s is to record TV programs fro viewing at a later date” (“VCR’s” 42). This so called “time shifting” was the foundation for the VCR’s success. Aside from its obvious TV connection, the VCR also provided a whole n...
A TV signal is captured by a camera and then manipulated during program production. At this point the video must be at its highest quality and full bandwidth for recording, editing and special effects purposes. Then the TV signal needs to be compressed for economical transmission and storage. The possible efficiency of compression depends on a couple of factors. If a signal will be further edited and manipulated in the receiving studio it must maintain a relatively high quality and therefore can’t be compressed as much as a signal that will be sent directly to the viewer’s TV set. Also, the extent to which a signal can be successfully compressed depends on the type of program (E.g. movies can be compressed more than sports). Nevertheless, a typical program mix will fit up to 10 digital television channels on one transmission line.
These days, technology does not need to be revolutionary to scare people and cause controversy; it only needs to be evolutionary, in that large technological leaps are not as important. In 1999, two companies - TiVo and Replay - introduced a slightly fancier VCR-like device called a digital video recorders (DVR) or a personal video recorder.ii These devices essentially duplicate the functionality of VCRs, but make them slightly easier to use. Now, consumers can choose to record a television show by name and for a whole season instead of only one episode. The black box records constantly so that users can pause live television and return to pick up where they left off.

Before television existed people had to depend on Radio stations to receive their little bit of entertainment and news. But in 1878, the invention of TV began. The first TV made didn’t look anything like the way TV’s look today. It was a mechanical camera with a large spinning disc attached to it (Kids Work). But as over the years, of course, inventions of different TV’s progressed and by the 20th century about 90 percent of our population had a TV in their household (MGHR). Television today is mainly used for people take a break from their life by relaxing and enjoying some entertainment.
Program rating information would be transmitted along with the television signal, and be decoded by a chip in each television. The chip would then compare the rating codes to values preset by the viewer. If the rating codes are higher than the preset values, the television signal would be blocked, and a blank screen would ...
In fact, videos can be shared on broadcast television, YouTube, street marketing and video boards, increasing the possibilities of reaching the target audience. The sharing of the videos results in more exposure of the brand message and generates an increased interest in the marketed brand. Indeed, video marketing is the simplest and most effective way of reaching lots of prospective clients and getting the marketing message heard, seen and felt. Besides, videos allow marketers to appeal to the emotional side of their clients, attach faces to their marketing messages, and establish more influential and useful connections with their
The Digital Video Recorder used in modern entertainment systems can now be replaced with an easy to use streaming video devices. As the online video libraries grow to include more content, eventually streaming set top boxes will provide this functionality, without the need to schedule recordings or manage space used by previous recordings. One additional advantage, often referred to as TV Anywhere, allows viewing of online content from a variety of devices, as long as an Internet connection is available. Now the real motivation that drives many Americans to consider these alternative options is money.
The purpose of the new system that I will develop is to improve on the
The findings of this study offer view on multiple sides involving opportunies and challenges for broadcast media companies and digital platform partners to exploit audience participation for the purposes of profit and the strategic expansion to multi-platform formats.
Previously we have discussed the detail study of the system that analysis the requirements . While the requirements specification activity is entirely in the problem domain, design is the first step in moving from the problem domain toward the solution domain. Design is essentially the bridge between requirements specification and the final solution for satisfying the requirements[]. In this chapter we will produce a model that represent the system which can be used later to build the system. In the next sections we are going to discuss the architectural design of Smart Course. The architecting process can be thought as a decision making process in which the appropriate decisions must be made. Upon to that we will answer and clarify fundamental questions like: is the system centralized or distributed, how the system will be decomposed into model, which control , organization and reference model are selected. Moreover, we describe the main model that represent the Smart Course.
Von Neumann architecture, or the Von Neumann model, stems from a 1945 computer architecture description by the physicist, mathematician, and polymath John von Neumann and others. This describes a design architecture for an electronic digital computer with a control unit containing an instruction register and program counter , external mass storage, subdivisions of a processing unit consisting of arithmetic logic unit and processor registers, a memory to store both data and commands, also an input and output mechanisms. The meaning of the term has grown to mean a stored-program computer in which a command fetch and a data operation cannot occur at the same time because they share a common bus. This is commonly referred to as the Von Neumann bottleneck and often limits the performance of a system.
Microcontroller can be considered as a small size of computer on a chip. Because it consists of processor, random access memory (RAM), read-only memory (ROM) and input/output peripherals. Microcontroller is also named as embedded controllers, since it is part of an embedded system. According to Blacharski (2003) microcontroller defines as “an integrated chip that is often part of an embedded system”. The purpose of develop microcontroller is to evolve the performance and efficiency a machine. Microcontroller can execute itself without the any support from external. Now a day, we can see that there are appliances in everywhere which is developed by microcontroller. For instance, aircraft, vehicle engines, microwaves, fuel injection system, robots, and so on.
Nevertheless, one of the most important constants among all of us, regardless of our differences, is that, above all, we are buyers. We use or consume on a regular basis food, clothing, shelter, transportation, education, equipment, vacations, necessities, luxuries, services, and even ideas. As consumers, we play an essential role in the health of the economy; local, national and international. The purchase decision we make affect the requirement for basic raw materials, for transportation, for production, for banking; they affect the employment of employees and the growth of resources, the successfulness of some industries and the failure of others. In order to be successful in any business and specifically in today’s dynamic and rapidly evolving marketplace, marketers need to know everything they can about consumers; what they are want, what they are think, how they are work, how they are spend their leisure time. They have to find out the personal and group influences that affect consumer decisions and how these decisions are made. In these days of ever-widening media choices, they need to not only identify their target audiences, but they have to know where and how to reach
In designing a computer system, architects consider five major elements that make up the system's hardware: the arithmetic/logic unit, control unit, memory, input, and output. The arithmetic/logic unit performs arithmetic and compares numerical values. The control unit directs the operation of the computer by taking the user instructions and transforming them into electrical signals that the computer's circuitry can understand. The combination of the arithmetic/logic unit and the control unit is called the central processing unit (CPU). The memory stores instructions and data.
