The world is changing. As technological discoveries are being progressively made, mankind is learning new ways to share knowledge. Education is one area that has taken a leap in technology. Due to the effects of technology, the days of blackboards and overhead projectors are over, and now is the era of smart-boards and document cameras. These new technological innovations and have caused education to change a great deal. Technology has had numerous effects on education.
The first effect technology has had on education is the ability for students to learn outside the classroom. By means of technology, a student no longer has to rely on the presence of his or her teacher for learning. Students have the ability to use apps for learning. Whenever a person needs to know something, he or she will often turn to an app for assistance. Popular learning apps include apps that teach memorization, apps that teach foreign languages, and apps that teach reading skills. Also, YouTube is another example of technology that can be used to learn outside the classroom. A student can watch a YouTube video in order to learn many things. YouTube videos can teach a student a math lesson, or a student can learn to play an instrument from a YouTube tutorial. Classes that are taken online are also technological innovations that allow students to learn outside the classroom. Online courses are a prime example of an effect that technology has had on education. Many universities and institutions of higher learning offer online classes to students. Studies show that over forty percent of students in college are enrolled in an online class (“Report: Students Taking”). ... aids, virtual simulations, and interactive websites are used by teachers to enhance lessons. Lessons are now enriched with technology. The capability to use technological resources for lessons is an effect technology has had on education.
It is apparent that technology has had several effects on education. Students can now be educated outside the classroom and communicate with instructors through technology. Meanwhile, education is being enriched by technological resources. These effects of technology have changed education entirely. Education and technology now go hand in hand.
