Our oceans take a large beating every day by the extremely large amount of pollution humans produce. Our society easily dumps their waste into the oceans to dispose of the excessive amount of garbage, sewage, and chemicals, but this small and simple solution is creating an even bigger problem. The way humans dispose of their wastes is causing the death of our beloved marine life. Not only are we killing off our animals, our food source, and our resources, we are also minimizing our usable water. By having a better understanding of the problem on the severe dumping, it will be easier to find ways to help minimize the pollution that is going into the ocean.
Pollution comes in many forms. In the ocean we dump a variety of substances, including human wastes, chemicals from fertilizers, oil, and trash such as plastic which all contribute to the growing issue of our ocean pollution. In addition to, our usable waters are finite. More than 97.5 percent of the water on this planet is undrinkable salt water; the remaining 2.5 percent has two-thirds of the usable fresh water locked up in glaciers, snow, and permafrost. Of the one-third of freshwater that is available for human use, 20 percent is used for industrial use. This problem may seem prevalent and it is very important to know about. It affects marine life in many ways, but humans are also greatly affected.by this problem. People don’t realize what this problem does to them. However the human race can always work and solve this issue. People shouldn’t dump trash in the ocean or any water source. Trash can destroy coral reefs and other important ecosystems and ruin marine life. Most important sewage plants shouldn’t dump raw sewage into the ocean because it provides nutrients to harmful algae. Governments around the world should put more restrictions on sewage and the disposal of it. But if the solution wants to be solved people must work together.

Water pollution has had devastating effects on the environment, which include irreversible effects on the oceans ecosystem. People often underestimate the importance of the ocean. They don’t realize how much damage pollution has caused to the ocean and the thousands of creatures that inhabit it. If we do not take action to this problem our world may be in more serious danger than it already is at this point. Due to the limited amount of water that we have , the ocean takes a big part of that and with it being polluted it’s going to be much more difficult to have drinkable water let alone clean water. Also if we don’t try to solve this problem the mass of waste going into landfills and oceans will increase to a point that will not be able to be fixed. People should really be aware of where our waste is going and how it affects us negatively.

Pollution of the oceans have been a big problem in the world, and it seems that these problems are not getting better. People keep talking about how we need to fix this problem, but no one seems to act on it. Ocean pollution is terrible for not just fish, but humans also. All this is also avoidable, the majority of the oceans pollution is man made. We are just hurting ourselves by doing this, but people continue to put stuff in the ocean. There is a clean up process for all of this, but it is not easy. Much is at harm from ocean pollution and it should be treated.
The earth contains various natural resources. Oil, fossil fuels, iron, air, etc., all of these resources allow us to survive and prosper throughout our daily lives. In some cases when these resources are so readily available, problems arise. Oceans generate ½ the oxygen people breath. Air pollution is responsible for 33% of the toxic contaminants that end up in oceans and coastal waters. When factories produce smoke, the smoke ends up being trapped in the ocean, contributing to the dead spots. In the ocean, there are many dead spots or dead zones, in which life cannot survive there; this is due to the lack of oxygen. Although we can clean these dead spots, we choose not to.
