Walking through the halls of OLCHS is not fun. Students instead of waking up in the morning excited and happy to go to school they don’t. They wake up dreading to go to school not only for the fact that they might not like school, but also because of the staff. Some of the staff take up so much pride and respect for the school, yet that means nothing if the students don’t feel the same way toward their school. Yes OLCHS might give a good education but in the end that doesn’t matter. Not only in my opinion but also in others. We do appreciate the good education, but we would appreciate the education more and would enjoy it more if there was more respect and understanding towards us students. I for most think that a school is nothing if there is no respect for it, but most of all pride.
OLCHS thinks that every problem and that every solution to that problem is dealt with rules, police, or discipline. Yet they don’t realize that all of that is not a solution, and is fixing nothing at all since those problems come up over and over again. Yes sometimes it may work, but no...

Making high schools a “center of excellence” for all students even if that means breaking down extremely large schools through the concept of “schools within schools”;
Only now is evidence emerging testifying to the fact that much of the criticism leveled at public schools is exaggerated and misplaced. It is easy to forget that schools reflect what is happening in society, not cause it. Schools of today have recently shown that they are performing better than ever. Unfortunately, the traditional challenges confronting schools have increased dramatically and broadly as the world and students have changed. Now schools are facing drastic change -- necessary change that must take place quickly so students are able to cope in a dramatically changing world of the future. All of the criticism creates fear in teachers and administrators rather than a desire to embrace change.
...ly worsens the problems that he states. With the lack of maturity comes more bullying and cliques. By teachers and administration helping each student individually, children not only will learn more but also have more ways to show their individuality. The uniqueness of each person can be expressed through the way he learns and how he uses the information he is given. Instead of generalizing teachers, students, and administration and attacking them for their flaws as Botstein has, the purpose of high school is to show how each person fits into society by expressing their own individuality. Not everyone can be a brilliant mathematician, physicist, or author. It takes many different people to make the world work cohesively. By maintaining the traditional high school setting while working to fit students’ needs, education can assist in making a greater society.
The teacher that I worked with was a substitute so she had been in the other schools in that area so when I asked her this question, she answered with, “there are those few great students who make this job worth it.” She mentioned in the younger ages that she had worked with there have been students who did great in school and they had always behaved and done good on school work. These students went on to achieve higher than some of the other students who were not as interested in school.
The repetitive structure of a school day, in a way, provides me with a sense of security, an awareness of what to expect, but it can be monotonous and lack excitement. When you consider how much time students spend in school it is clear that the experience shapes their lives and can have a lasting effect. It is for this reason that it is crucial to have the correct balance of conformity and individuality for the benefit of both civilization and individuals.
...iform policy, bullying, segregation, and distractions will not be the reasons of poor school environment. When all the negative effects are prevented, it would form a better place for students to learn and keeps them united.
The staff is committed to their school and they are trying to improve it as possible.
What makes a school great? Is it how the staff cares and shows it for their students, or is it the students? Many ask this question, and many come up with different responses than the ones that are stated above. It all depends on the school, and what the school has decided what would make them great. What I believe will make a school great is the school climate and closing the achievement gap from it, what a student wants from the school, encourage higher order thinking and self-regulation, and Adapting to Individual Developmental differences. If the schools focused on these things and made them all great, then schools would be enjoyable for all.
The entire community plays an essential role in the growth and development of children within our community. As a school leader, building an inclusive school culture that is open and friendly to all stakeholders using a variety of effective methods is crucial. There is no magic formula to incorporating a positive school culture, much depends on the leadership of the campus. The leadership on campus cultivates the climate providing support and respect for everyone invested in the student’s education.
Education is meant to be the key to a successful life. It is supposed to inspire great ideas, and prepare each and every generation for their future. However, school for today 's generation fails to meet those requirements. Every student knows education is important, but when school is not engaging or in some cases, even relevant, it makes learning difficult. Improving the school system is something educators attempt to accomplish every year. Despite their best efforts, there are numerous flaws students see, but adults overlook. There is a lack of diversity for students to learn, an overabundance of testing, and students’ voices are being ignored on how to create a more productive learning experience.
The education system is probably the most utilized system on this planet. Most humans have passed through a type of school whether they wanted too or not. School is primarily a place designed for people to attend and learn. It is a place to better yourself, to learn facts, discipline, to learn social and economic skills. Yet for all that school is intended for, different people go for various reasons. Some are hardworking and academically minded, going to study with an aim of setting a good foundation for their future and having a successful and accomplished career. Others are carefree and go for the social side, to be popular with lots of friends, and in the end just to have an enjoyable time. For many it can even be an area
In order to be an effective school, all school personnel must work together in a friendly, caring, polite, and respectful manner. There are a number of positions and employees in a school. “A school is a complex social system, and all the people in it contribute to making it run smoothly” (Kauchak & Eggen, 2014, p. 182). It’s important to acknowledge the contributions of all staff and faculty members. The principal, leader of the school is the ...
Many students suffer from the school system. Many students face problems in schools because lack of the system. There are so many problems in school that should never be there, education now involving more problems than anything else. In recent years so many people have lost their lives in the class-room. There are ways to improve school system by police presence, to end overcrowded condition, and to hire more qualified teachers.
...ke school something that the students can look back on and think that it was a meaningful time where they learned a lot about life instead of a time where they thought they would have a break down because they got a low score on a test. School should be a time to make mistakes in a safe environment that they can learn from, not a place that they are petrified to make a mistake for fear of retribution on their grade cards. Its time to change the school system to save future students from becoming stress crazed and to let them know that there is more to this world than a grade card and in the long run it is a very small fraction of life.
