Introduction:
The design of simple electric generator is performed to testify three important physics concepts by three hypothesizes. Based on the transformation and conservation of energy,knowing that the total energy of an isolated system cannot change, but can be transformed from other forms. The first hypothesize is spinning the nail can lighten the bulb which can testify the basic idea of electromagnetic Induction.The second hypothesize is the number of the coils which are winded on the device is deciding factor of whether the bulb is lightened or not. This is the application of solenoid that the strength of magnetic field produced by a current is directly proportional to the number of turns in the solenoid. The third hypothesize the little bulb will be lightened after spinning the magnet at a certain speed. This one can reflect the electromagnetic induction which explain the process of transformation from magnetic force to electromotive force across a conductor. Comparative experiments are needed on testifying the second and the third hypothesizes while the first one does not need.

Materials:
Four ceramic magnets, magnet wire300ft,a miniature lamp,a piece of cardboard strip,and a large nail.

Methods:
First make the hollow-ended box. Fold it it first then tape it securely.
Use the large nail to poke a hole in the center of the box, going through both sides of the box. Widen the hole slightly, it will increase the speed of spinning.
Clamp the four magnets on both sides of the nail. Try to spin it and make sure the box is large enough for the magnets to spin freely. This will also make spinning easier as well as increase the speed.

Secondly, the difference on brightness of two operations using different speed can prove that if the same coil of wire passed through the same magnetic field but its speed or velocity is increased, the wire will cut the lines of flux at a faster rate so more induced voltage would be produced.
