A great leader once said “Leadership is not so much about techniques and methods as it is about opening the heart. Leadership is about inspiration-of oneself and others. Great leadership is about human experiences, not processes. Leadership is not a formula or a program, it is a human activity that comes from the heart and considers the hearts of others. It is an attitude, not a routine”. Leadership is all about understanding, contributing and bringing out a decision that is accepted and respected by all. For me leadership is only about three words: be, know, do. You should BE impartial with people. You should KNOW that your leadership is all about bringing the right decision and you fulfill it and you DO provide direction for example by setting goals.

Leadership is a process by which a person influences others to accomplish an objective and directs the organization in a way that makes it more cohesive and coherent. For me leadership is all based on some basic principles that should be followed by the leader himself and should be inculcated in the people who follow him. The first principle is to be a professional and know your job. Also to make the right, timely and sound decisions are another quality of a leader. Setting the examples as I added before is another positive approach to good leadership. This can be practiced by teaching our people how to set their goals. The Leader should work hard to develop the sense of responsibility among his/her people. Another base for a strong leadership is to bring out all the capabilities of your people by making them enjoy the team spirit. For me leadership means more than just being called a leader. It is not about gaining a post or position but also about reaching your people for their solutions. It is about satisfying your people’s need before your own. It is about giving your people the security that their job/work/possession is secure and is in safety until they follow you. It’s about bringing the right decision that is respected by all. Lastly to respect and to be respected is one of the most reputed attribute of a leader and should be followed by all so that they create positive leadership.
