The simple definition of the termination of pregnancy has such an up roar and a voice of opinions in society. When many hear the word abortion, they think of a woman getting rid of her baby because she was not being safe with her partner and that she is making a selfish decision. An abortion can also occur spontaneously where it is then referred to as a miscarriage. It is important to understand reasoning behind why each abortion was chosen before judging the parents of the baby or the doctor involved. Many say that abortions are unethical as they are speaking in the baby’s voice, but some voices find the side where there are circumstances that make an abortion ethical and necessary which defines pro-choice and pro-life.

An abortion is one of the safest medical procedures to be performed. Unfortunately, numerous people turn to unsafe abortions. On a yearly basis there are about 42 million abortions performed globally. Out of the 42 million performed, 20 million of those are unsafe. 70 thousand maternal deaths result from these unsafe abortions.

With this high count of deaths, you would think people would just let their child live rather then terminating their baby’s life as well as their own. Induced abortions can include herbs, sharpened tools, traditional methods and even physical trauma. If people have to go through pain and a high expense to just erase their mistake, they should simply be safe with their partner and save themselves the trouble.

Abortion laws and arguments have been continuous since the 1820s when abortion was forbidden after the fourth month of pregnancy. Early feminists such as Susan B. Anthony promoted prevention. They believed that men drove women to aborting the baby. Later on down the road, femi...

...choice group is happy because their opinions are being voted in favor. Until the time comes, if it ever comes, that abortion becomes illegal, pro-life people will have to hope that couples will make the right decision. There are so many families in need of a child to adopt and no one should take the ability to have kids for granted.
