We all remember the tragic event that occurred on September 11, 2001. Well, most of us do. I was only a child when the new struck everyone’s hearts. My mother remembers it well and tells me about it each year when September 11 comes around. The United States was on edge and ready to start a war after the occurrence. But, some might wonder “Who could do such evil to a country?” and “What ever happened to him/her?” The name of the man who brought such terror to our country was Osama Bin Laden. He was a man from Saudi Arabia with malicious plans to cause a havoc among New York City and a panic to everyone in the United States. His actions and death had many effects on the United States.
Osama Bin Laden was the founder and head of an Islamist militant group al-Qaeda. He was killed on May 2, 2011 at 1:00 A.M. in the city of Abbottabad, Pakistan. The code name of the operation was Operation Neptune Spear and was carried out in a Central Intelligence Agency-led operation. He was murdered by Navy SEALs of the United States Naval Special Warfare Development Group. The raid on Osama Bin Laden started in Afghanistan. Once they found him, United States forces took him back to Afghanistan to identify the body. Then, they buried him at sea within 24 hours of his death. Bin Laden’s group, al-Qaeda, confirmed the death on May 6. His not being taken alive despite being unarmed were legal and ethical aspects of the killing that were questioned by many. Another controversial topic discussed was the decision not to release any photographic or DNA evidence of bin Laden’s death to the public.
“The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number 1 priority and we will not rest until we find him.” said President George W. Bu...

Osama bin Laden was an adversary of the West for years and it was known to the whole world. Unfortunately, he took it a little further by having two planes fly into the World Trade Center, one into the Pentagon and another plane possibly for the White House. As we all know, this is the unforgettable day of September 11, 2001. Thousands of Americans were innocently murdered that day and in our own country by a terrorist organization. The United States of America would not stand for this and rapidly sought out Osama Bin Laden for what he had done to us. This is the day that caused the United States to accelerate the search and destruction efforts of bin Laden. Soon after September 11th, the United States was very involved in Afghanistan in trying to find him.
September 11, 2001, is a day that will go down in history and never be forgotten. On this day in time, Islamic terrorists attacked the World Trade Center in New York City, as well as The Pentagon building in Washington, D.C. The terrorists, who were affiliated with Al Qaeda, were led by the one and only, Osama Bin Laden. Nine days after this devastating attack on our country, President George W. Bush addressed Congress with an unplanned State of the Union address. Bush used great amounts of tragedy with a direct vital tone to deliver a very important message. Ultimately, this message would reach out to the American people as a whole, not only for remembrance of the people who lost their lives, but also as a plan of action for what would lie ahead.
The aftermath of his actions left a nation and the world in a state of mourning that had not been seen since the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Even now nearly 35 years after his death, events are held around the world to commemorate both his death and everlasting impact.
As the United States hunted Osama bin Laden, it cleaned up the aftermath of 9/11 and started to rebuild. Osama bin Laden was found and killed in May 2011 by a military group known as Seal Team Six.
Osama bin Laden was perceived to be a brave, intelligent, and independent man who always held a high standard for himself and the Muslim world. He was driven by the term jihad, which means “holy war”. People viewed him as a genuine professional that embraced all aspects of his culture. The Christian West is considered Islam’s main enemy due to the perceived belief that they oppose Muslims and their culture. Muslims believe that the Israelis are trying to oppress them by claiming their rightful land, Palestine. This did not settle well with Osama and he would not stand to not do anything about it. As years went on, every decision he made was based off of his life and faith. Through radicalization, exile from homeland, and anti-western sentiments, Osama bin Laden built the terrorist organization known as Al- Qaeda.
Osama bin Mohammed bin Awad bin Laden was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 1957 and he was surrounded by 49 brothers and sisters. His family was really rich because of his father who was a billionaire, and owned one of the biggest construction companies of the kingdom. Bin Laden attended a high leveled school during his childhood, which combined British style secular education with Islamic worship. During his college years, he went to King Abd Al University to study four different courses: civil engineering, public administration, business and economics. In the 1970’s, when he was only 17 years old, bin Laden married his first cousin, and later on married three other women (marrying several times was permitted among Muslims). From a little age, Osama was religiously committed, and whenever his father hosted hundreds of pilgrims during the Hajj, bin Laden had a great time getting to know the gatherers and making new contacts. (A Biography of Osama Bin Laden) Due to influences and strong conviction, this young boy, when reached adulthood, became a terrorist and high threat to many countries, especially America. Osama bin Laden, a fugitive terrorist, was finally caught and killed on May 2, 2011 with the cooperation of Obama and the Navy SEALs bringing peace and closure to American citizens as well as political acknowledgement.
In 1988 Osama bin Laden started the terrorist group al-Qaeda. Osama stole over 250 million dollars, and was already committing murders by then. In 1993 a bomb exploded in the World Trade Center area, the bomb was set off by al-Qaeda members. The bomb did not kill as many as the planes did, but killed up to 6 people and injuring many. In 1995 a bomb went off at a military base, and killed around 15 people, not only Americans were killed also Indian soldiers. In 1996 he called full jihad war on the US. Two years later he killed 224 people in a US embassy in Africa, and three years later his attack on US soil 9/11 was the US last straw. The reason for Osama’s killing wasn’t just because of 9/11 it was to prevent war on jihad that Osama had claimed on the US, if we wouldn’t have killed Osama in 2011 think about how many more terrorist attacks would have gone on in the
Osama Bin Laden had not only been responsible for one of the biggest attacks in American history but also for so many more all around the world. For instance, in 1992, the first attack by Al-Qaeda was carried out as a bombing at the old Mohur hotel in Aden, Yemen, where U.S. troops had been staying while on the route to Somalia. They also targeted a second hotel which was the Aden Movenpick for the same purposes. They followed through by pa...
Have you ever heard of 9/11, or wondered what went on? To begin with, the day of 9/11 was a serious attack on the United States of America in 2001 which took out the marvelous Twin Towers while also damaging the Pentagon. On this day, the trust and will of the patriots of this country were tested by extremists. Despite the fact of an outrageous attack, the country stood strong against the power that opposed them. No matter the problem, our country rebuilt itself along the way with will, bravery, and help of others. In the following statements, I will review some of the important details on that day in which include the numerous casualties, expensive levies, and the extreme terrorists responsible for this invasion.
Osama bin Laden was the terrorist mastermind who orchestrated the largest terrorist attack on United States soil in history. He induced the deaths of nearly three thousand unsuspecting Americans and struck fear into an entire nation. Through impeccable communication and influence bin Laden was able to organize the 9/11 attacks, but afterwards al Qaeda began to face their downfall.
We all heard of 9/11. I mean who hasn’t heard of 9/11, do you guys know who planned and attacked the Twin Towers, the Pentagon and try to hit the U.S Capitol. It is Osama Bin Laden the dead terrorist and the leader of Al Qaeda. Osama Bin Laden is a terrorist that bombed the U.S and the western philosophy by attacking U.S embassies, the Oklahoma city suicide attack and a lot more suicide attacks that are really dangerous. He was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 1957 or 1958.
Laden was a terrorist leader who became very influential with the help of his money, and a common goal that he and his followers all had: Muslim domination. It all started with the birth of Al Qaeda. Osama then started to get involved in war which started his popularity throughout Central Asia. “As a result of his participation in the Afghanistan civil war, Bin Laden became very well known throughout the country” ( Stevenson 2). This was when Osama’s name was being heard all throughout Afghanistan and others started
The United States demanded them to hand over Osama bin Laden. They were going to force al-Qaeda from Afghanistan. After evading capture for almost a decade, Osama bin Laden was located and killed in Pakistan by SEAL Team Six of the U.S. Navy in May 2011. The terrorist attack had a profound effect on the United States economically and culturally. The stock exchange did not open on September 11 and remained closed until September 17. Businesses near the World Trade Center were destroyed which resulted in the loss of many jobs. In New York City, about 430,000 job-months and 2.3 billion dollars were lost in the first three months after the attacks. Although the attacks were horrific, the people of the U.S. show a powerful sense of togetherness. There was a great increase in home life, time spent with family, higher church attendance and people expressed their patriotism by flying flags. Religious faith was a tug of war. Some people were turning to God to find understanding why this happen and deal with their grief. On the other hand, there were some who lost their faith entirely, unable to grasp the situation. Security was definitely on the high rise. The Department of Homeland Security was created by the Homeland Security Act to coordinate domestic anti-terrorism efforts. The FAA ordered that airplane cockpits be reinforced to prevent terrorist from gaining control of planes. The Federal government was responsible for airport security by the Aviation and Transportation Security Act. The law created the Transportation Security Administration to inspect passengers and luggage, causing long delays. September 11, 2001 is considered the deadliest terrorist attack on American soil in U.S. history. On every anniversary, in New York City the names of the victims who died are read out loud against a background of music. The President of the U.S. attends a memorial
Osama Bin Laden was on the FBI’s most wanted list for 10 years. He was responsible for the deaths of thousands of American soldiers and American citizens, as well as the 9/11 terrorist attack. The American Special Forces have been trying to track him down for a long time and have not succeeded, until May 1st, 2011. The mission that killed Bin Laden was called “Operation Neptune Spear” and that mission changed American history forever.
