"Kate, it's nice to put a face to the name. Alexis can't stop talking about you." What do you say back to that? "Well, she's a great kid" "But you prefer me better, right?" Rick's childish voice cut Martha's answer. Weirdly enough his attempt of a joke made her feel more at ease. She could think she was back on the precinct with the boys, instead that in his kitchen. "No she doesn't!" Alexis intervened, obviously thinking he was being serious. "Richard" Martha scolded, then she turned to Kate "I feel like I must apologize for his behavior. You'd think that would stop after he finished school..." She jibed, but noticed that the detective had glared at his son and effectively shut him up. "Though I must say detective, you can handle him quite well" Again, what do you say to that? thank you? She decided to focus on the gentle pull on her sleeve. She looked down to Alexis' big blue eyes "You don't prefer him better, no?" She asked shyly. "Of course not" Somehow she felt the need to reassure her. "In fact, it'll be much better if you were in the precinct every day instead of him" That earned a giggle from the little red head. "You hurt me with your words, detective." Castle gasped. However he was thankful that the detective comforted his daughter, knowing that she had some trust issues thanks to her mother. But he wasn't going to think about that now. "You'll live" Beckett rolled her eyes. Alexis jumped from her seat and joined Rick, who was about to start cooking. After some thought Kate took the wine Martha had given her earlier and sipped it while watching Alexis and Rick cook. He was making his world famous-his words- pasta carbonara. It was like a well rehearsed dance between Alexis and Rick, they m... ... middle of paper ... ...ss looked more like a bowl, or a fish tank-, and placed it in front of Kate. "No, tha-" Kate tried to refuse politely, however the older woman had already filled her cup with the proffered drink -and if she was correct, she had practically downed half a bottle. "Drink up" The flamboyant woman insisted taking a healthy sip of her own glass of wine. "Jesus, mother. You couldn't find bigger glasses?" Castle jibed when he saw the woman's glasses. Kate successfully stifled a laugh behind the glass of wine. "Oh, shush you." his mother dismissed. " So, detective-" "Just Kate" Kate interrupted Martha and immediately turn to look at Castle, as if she could read his thoughts. Sure enough his mouth was open, ready to say something. She gave him a stern look, clearly stating that the same courtesy wasn't extended to him. Neither caught Martha's amused look.
“Pardon me?” Miss Allen asked, finally putting an end to the creepy ass moment of deadly silence. The perplexed expression on her face grew more confound with each passing second, but the gentleness in her eyes remained the same.
“It sounds personal to me,” the blond woman said. I felt myself nodding in agreement. “I'm sure the police---”
Cell Phones Do you ever feel awkward around people and crowds? Want to just crawl under a rock and not have to deal with them? Well, you certainly aren’t the only one!
Mac ruffled his feathers, sending a downy feather fluttering to the floor. "Me? Jealous? Of that conniving bitch? Ha! Don’t make me laugh."
“It’s okay, Detective, it was a rhetorical question. I- I already know I’m dangerous too. I can destroy things with a touch — look at the door if you don’t believe me. And you saw what I did to Sheriff Higgins-” Her voice cracked causing her to clear her throat in hopes of covering up the swelling emotion. Her nose felt stuffy and her bottom lip quivered, but she refused to shed another tear feeling sorry for herself.
“No thank you baby” she said, “I heard about the man on the TV who drank too much of that stuff so right now I’m trying to keep myself at a limit.”
“Excuse me little boy what are you doing on my family farm?” the woman asked using decorous behavior.
"But here we all are!" Izzy replied, as the little tea cup hopped on over towards her.
“The pots are stuffed with all of your favorite foods. What would you like to drink?”
"I would." She sounded angry now. He wondered if bringing the wine to the dinner had been a wise idea. Life was certainly not a cabernet right now.
After a long silence between the two, the father began to apologize "I'm sorry son, but you can't do that to me. You could have gotten in serious trouble," he whispered sternly.
“Wait a minute. You are not here about Margaret. Do you know that two men kidnapped her and everyone is looking for her? What are you doing here?” Andrew asked, irritated.
Rachel smiled, obviously amused at his annoyance. She set her coffee aside and leaned forward, making Kurt raise an eyebrow at her. "I have a proposition for you." She said in a hushed tone.
