"You, daddy?" Momentarily forgot he wasn't on the precinct, but with his mother and child in his kitchen. He looked at Kate for help, but the detective was finding the situation mostly amusing, so was his mother.
"Well, you know.. because I'm always warm?" He said, though it sounded more like a question than a statement.
"Oh, ok" Alexis said buying into his improvised lie. His mother saluted him with her wine glass, as if saying 'nice safe, kiddo'.
Rick focused again at his task at hand, lowering the temperature of the burner, and then placing the bacon. Sure enough, he didn't have to avoid getting oil burns. He looked at the detective, who was looking far too smug for his liking. "I would've figure it out eventually"
"You're welcome" Kate said smugly, causing his mother to laugh.
While he finished cooking, Martha set the table with Kate's and Alexis' help. The two red heads sat when the finished and Kate offered to help him taking the food to the table. On the last trip to the table, Castle was fast enough so that he could pull out the chair for Kate. The detective rolled her eyes at his antics, however it was not lost to his eyes the gentle blush spreading in her cheeks. He sat and they began eating the pasta. Alexis was sitting next to Kate, and was eagerly telling her about some activities she had done in her preschool.
"And then she asked me if I wanted to hold the hamster!" The girl finished her story.
"And did you?" Kate asked, genuinely interested in Alexis' story. The girl's innocence was refreshing, since most of Beckett's world had to do with negative aspects of people.
"Yes, but I didn't liked it." Alexis said scrunching her nose, making Kate smile at her adorable face.
"Why?" She didn't noticed the smile th...

...said 'do not open' and 'how the hell did that happen'. She couldn't believe that Castle was actually able to behave for more than 5 minutes. And she didn't want to think about the awkward goodbye with Castle. I had a great time, she repeated in a mocking voice in her head, what was wrong with her?
"Hey Kate, wait. Your phone." Castle's voice snapped her from her thoughts, she saw him running towards her. Thankfully the elevator door hadn't closed, so she placed her arm so that they didn't.
"Thanks" She smiled, she had totally forgotten the reason she was there in the first place. She was sure there was some psychological explanation as to why she forgot, but she sure as hell wasn't going to analyze that. She pocketed her phone and with one last look at Castle, the elevator doors closed and officially ended the weirdest most fun time she'd ever had in some time.
“No,” I answered hollowly. “I can’t say you did.” Her eyes looked down to the floor until she built enough courage to continue her story that I knew I couldn’t avoid.
Alice looks down and said, “Oh yeah. If that’s what makes YOU happy,” and muttered under her breath, “You don’t even know…”
“Thank you for your help,” Ruth said as he closed the door. I’ll just wait in his office, she thought and went down the hallway.
“Because I thought it’d be fun.” I said, grinning from ear to ear like Jeff the Killer.
Cell Phones Do you ever feel awkward around people and crowds? Want to just crawl under a rock and not have to deal with them? Well, you certainly aren’t the only one!
"Really, your mom told me to come get you because she got tied up with some work!" the man continued.
"Look," Alex said in such a soft voice that is was almost a whisper, "my house...in flames." Mrs. Robins gasped. She ran back inside and picked up the phone.
“Ok, I’ll go get her,” she said jumping out of bed and running down the hall.
“Hey! Kasumi!” Her friend’s voice was fading fast as Kasumi rushed down the stairs and opened the door to get out.
At that moment, Lauren walked into the room and smiled softly. “Time to go.” “Is everyone all packed up?”
“So you were just trying to push me past my limits, is that correct?” Oliver questioned.
“I don’t want to be here,” I mumbled, a bit more audibly than I intended. I wondered absently what would happen if I just strolled out the door and never came back to
Anna got up. “I’ve already seen this and I don’t want to see it again. I’ll go with you.”
“Son,” Dr. James said. “Tell your mother I will be home soon. I am just leaving the office now.”
Do you ever feel trapped when you are in a place that you have never been before? Isolation criticizes society since it does not let everyone be equal or have the same rights. Isolation can completely change a person, and it is usually for the worst. Society “acts” like they try to prevent isolation, but in reality they isolate people for certain reasons, then those people get judged for being “different.” Upon closer inspection it is human nature to deny equal rights because people that do not act, dress, or look the same are labeled as strange, and unfortunately, many times are not accepted by the majority of society. This gives authors a way to shine a light on society’s flaws.
