Courage and Determination: President Obama

Courage is a mystery and our beliefs will drive us toward a direction that most would think improbable or impossible. Putting much effort into the thought of the definition can leave people thinking for quite some time, or with the common quick response of being brave. Courage is subjective for the most part, but still remains to be in the eye of the beholder. Situations vary and outcomes all end differently depending on the chemistry of the situation. The courageous drive of a church going African American like Obama to defeat law school to benefit the living conditions of poor people. His courage began with a spark of determination long before manifesting into the 44th president. Courage can also give strength to a loving family man to die doing what he believed in; even though the cost of doing so ended many lives. The belief of righteousness according to one's self is the main source in many courageous acts. The situation may be exactly the same, but after one aspect of it is changed then the thought of something needing to be done has surfaced. Looking at the bigger picture as they say has become relevant, and a different course of action has been determined. Like a group of people taken hostage, but only until knowing the intentions of the high jackers is when everyone's foresight has been altered. The source of courage is determination, strength and the belief of the individual. With all these combine one can accomplish great tasks.

Determination, small or large, gives a huge supporting step to feeling courageous the process of establishing something above and beyond. President Obama according the “Miller Center” was an

...ation, strength and belief. Obamas determination grew as he accomplished more and more in his life. The strength of the 911 passengers grew after knowing that the situation was bigger than them. Ziad Jarrah's belief overcame everything, even his love from his family and girlfriend. Courage comes in many forms and is not always as extravagant, the same chemistry but

in smaller portions. Speaking up for yourself or knowing when to shut up, can be little wins. Courage means many different things to many different people, but if you believe in righteousness, then hurting people should not be a way to prove it, unless that person is planning on hurting someone else. Courage is a chemistry, and goodness should be thrown in the mixture.
