WHAT IS SOCIAL RESPONSIBILTY? The company should embrace its social responsibility and not to be solely focused on maximizing the profit. The welfare of the firm’s employees, customers and the communities should be safeguarded. Companies have the ethical responsibility to provide a safe working environment for their entire employees and avoid polluting the environment and also to produce safe products. It is also increasingly being used as a measure of overall company’s performance. According to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) this relationship to the society and environment in which they operate is a serious factor in their ability to continue to operate effectively. Public image is an important key factor for the corporations. Most of the consumers will not do the business with the corporation if they do not have any corporate social responsibility plans. Corporate social responsibility is important for every firm. If the firm is involved in donating funds or goods to local nonprofit organizations, charity or schools and if the raw materials they used in their products are environmentally safe so consumers will be more willing to buy the products from such firms and will be satisfied too. BETTER AND MORE MEDIA COVERAGE: - Media coverage is important for the corporations as they show their clear image to the public. If the corporations are fulfilling their social responsibilities and media does not show to the public the public will be unaware of it. So the corporations should form relationships with the media.
