Have you ever thought about going green, but don’t know the benefits. Today many Americans have taken the move to go green for many reasons. This research essay will relate to the book “Into the Wild”. The main character in this book, Chris, took it upon himself to go completely green and live in the wild. This was kind of Chris’s personality. He never liked relying on his parents or never liked the having to do the “normal” in the world. The resources Chris had were very limited and he had to rely on nature for a lot of things. When Chris went green, he didn’t have a car! He mostly walked and when you don’t have a car, carbon isn’t being put in the air. With not putting carbon in the air, it helps keep our air fresh and less polluted. Also, …show more content…
At the store, have you ever thought about the foods you buy? Well maybe you should because green products are guaranteed to be non-toxic and are not made with any harsh chemicals, pesticides, and added hormones (Rinkesh). Going green also helps for cleaner air! The World Health Organization has stated that due to air pollution is estimated to cause two million premature deaths worldwide every year. Keeping our air clean, can promise a future for new loved ones and a better chance of living (“Benefits of Going Green”). Climate change has been a very big factor in living today. Due to poor sanitation and densely populated areas in developing countries, it has caused changing temperatures and and precipitation has been common lately in these areas. These people have caught diseases like malaria and dengue. Going green for these people are essential for them to continue living! Also a lot of natural disasters are caused by pollution. A very big natural that is prone from pollution is wildfires. Imagine right now if the world could stop some wildfires by just spreading less pollution into the air. Also just knowing you’re doing something to help Earth be a better place should make you happy and make you take being green more into view and seeing what else you can do to help the pollution issues. Also if people recognize your well doing with going green, they'll be influenced by you to try going green for
With the rapid growth of our global population pouring into the next millennium, we will witness an ever-growing hunger rate around the world. That is unless we call for a revolution on the global scale. The Green Revolution which already sprouted in the early part of the century only need to add a bit more momentum and we will see a bright future for the human race, a future without hunger and starvation ¡V hopefully.It is becoming increasingly difficult for the planet to support its overwhelming population. And since the amount of arable land available is becoming scarce, we must seek ways to dramatically improve crop yields of existing cropland.
The article “Why Bother” written by Michael Pollan explains how the climate change and the carbon footprint effects the world. He states that there are many ways that we can do better to handle climate change and how to slow the process down. He thinks that it will take laws and a lot of money to stop this climate change because it’s going to take more than one person to solve this phenomenon. He proclaims that people are all waiting around on each other to make the first move but no one is moving. He says politicians want us to change our light bulbs to more efficient light bulbs s that use less energy. He understands how bad the world had gotten and people have to start going green by driving hybrid cars and buying “greener products” that will be better on the environment. This cannot be fixed by just one person he thinks that people have to influence each other and he hopes it will cause a chain reaction. He concludes that having your own garden or even a community garden will help reduce the carbon footprint.
The essay begins with sections on “ Greenness” and “The Green Man in the Open”;
In the film, the characters’ behaviour and actions are designed to deliver environmental messages to the audience. For example, characters turn off lights, computers and equipments when not in use. Characters wear T-shirt with green slogans. By greening plotlines and characters, the film is able to educate the general public on environmental issues.
The Earth was created roughly four point six billion years ago and since modern technology, is thought to have a carrying capacity, a limit that shows how many organisms can thrive under selected conditions. It is obvious that resource use has rapidly increased over the past hundreds of years. Which led to the theory of sustainability, this involves the preservation of resources for future generations. Green living is similar to this as it promotes the conservation and wise use of natural resources. Based on this information, it is very crucial for different governments to be involved and responsible for fostering green practices and sustainable.
However, you have to delve deeper to find out what we just covered. The Greenpeace visage on the surface is entirely different from what it actually is underneath, and they use that to solidify how they manage to get people to donate. They simply appeal to a persons’ emotions and human nature. Now if you ask me, that whole selling strategy is unethical at best. So why does it seem to work so well? Humans are intellectual beings; in fact, we are the only known sentient beings in the universe. Therefore, we have to stick together, right? People don’t generally use that thought process when choosing to donate to a company such as Greenpeace, but the outcome is the same. If you are given the opportunity to do something to feel as if you’ve

In conclusion, going green in the workplace is catchy new trend. Choosing to go verdant can be a grueling task and one that is confronted with some unique pros and cons. Although making green choices come at a slightly higher price, the rewards that are earned more than cover these costs. When a company chooses wisely going green can not only help the environment, and reduce the carbon foot-print the company makes but it can also prove to be a very smart business decision that can be financially gratifying.

A Green History of the World has been very educational reading and has given me a new prospective on the environment. While I do disagree with some of Clive Pointing’s views I have learned a lot from his work. A Green History of the World was a very in-depth look at the past and the future of our environment. Pointing raised my consciousness regarding the trials we face as inhabitants of this great planet and left me with some food for thought.
From research I have learned that consumers attitudes towards environmental protection is increasing. I have discovered that having a green image does matter to consumers. They are aggressively trying to change the way they have impacted our world (Green Marketing, 1 of 7). Some of the reasons that consumers are changing their attitudes are because of their gain in knowledge.
There are many ways each of us can help the planet. We do not have to do something really big and notorious to really make a change. We can help by doing small changes that make immense differences. I am here to persuade people to help our precious planet in a really interesting and maybe fun way. One of the easiest ways to help is by using environmentally friendly materials. We can find many useful materials made especially for our Earth’s benefit. I must say that a person really helps if she or he has a great motivation for something they really like. My question is: what are the young people really interested in? I would say nowadays many people are worried about their appearances. Wouldn’t it be fun to have sustainable clothes? I am really happy to state that clothing that helps our environment exists. There is sustainable fashion, also called eco-fashion. In sustainable fashion the clothes are created and produced to help the environment. Sustainable fashion brands use organic materials to do so.
The Benefits of Greening a City Sustainable development is a major world issue in recent development. Its main idea is to meet the needs of present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs, greening of cities is a very distinctive practice of this idea. Practical measures include planting tress along road side, increase the greening area of the city like increase the number and area of urban parks and perhaps country park too; setting law to restrict environmental degradation such as the release of air pollution by cars, factories, also the treatment of solid and liquid waste before discharge. Having low cost for maintenance and replacing new things is one of the most obvious benefits of greening a city. Due to the increase in vegetation, the air pollutants such as sulphur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide of the city decreases, the formation of acid rain decrease, destruction by acid rain and acidic rain to buildings and roads that made of concrete decreases.
STATE THESIS & MAIN POINTS: I’m going to persuade you that going green is one solution you could do to help improve the environment by first explaining the problem, then by explaining the factors responsible for pollution, and lastly by listing ways that can help solve this problem.
Environmental health explains the quality of your home, work, school, and social environment. Even the health of our planet plays a factor, air quality and availability of clean filtered water and healthy food. Also the weather and pollution, exposures to chemicals are factors playing against environment. I read an article by Lecia Bushak and she had made up many ways to help improve our environment. “Earth Day isn’t the only day you can take steps to make the environment better. In fact, it’s really easy to go green on a daily basis, and in doing so, you’ll be improving your own life” (Bushak, 2015). Following her step I will do my best to not use my car as much. I will be recycling more that’s for sure. I also will start being better about monitoring my electronics and water use in my home! These few changes will make the difference in my environmental health and I am willing to make these changes!
