This carnival expresses the country’s tradition via dance, music, handcrafts, costumes, and parties ("Barranquilla: Travel guide," 2013).
Ecuador offers both historic and adventure to its visitors. Galapagos Islands might be one of the most popular spots ("Tourists spots in," 2011). Tours of the island enables visitors to see the wildlife and perform water activities. For shoppers, the Artisan Market offers a wide variety of souvenirs for the tourists. Colombia is famous for many types of cuisine. In America, different states/areas are known for different types of food. For example, the coastline has great seafood and the south has awesome comfort food. Colombia is divided into 32 departments, or country subdivisions. Each area has unique dishes that reflect their department.
When the country of Colombia is mentioned, chances are individuals automatically start composing images of famous actors and musicians that have rooted from Colombia such as Shakira and Sofia Vergara, the excellent reputation Colombian coffee has made across the globe, or even the beautiful Emeralds that surround the astonishing land. Of course all of those things matter, but Colombia is a country that is definitely swept under the rug and under appreciated. Colombia’s history, independence movements, governmental structure, and culture are just a few of the topics that make Colombia so unique.
Thesis Statement: The Carnaval de Barranquilla, which has remained a prominent festival in South America because of its diverse history, is rich in traditions and has an influential impact on Colombian people.
Did you know that Peru is one of the top ten countries to visit in the world? (UNWTO) Peru has unique music and energetic dances that are fun to see. The people are friendly and charming; they would be happy to help one find their way if they need help. But, the main reason Peru appears on the top ten list is because of its unique geographical features. Some examples are the Andes Mountains, Machu Picchu and Cusco. The art and culture of the Peruvians, as well as the people themselves,and the popular places to go, are what tourists like to see in Peru.
Bolivians have plenty to do in their fun-filled country. They can hand-pick fruit from local farms or even in their own backyards. However, they like to go to a certain supermarket called Mercados. They can shop and buy food there. There are several unique holidays that Bolivians celebrate.
The broad range of topographical elevations has encouraged agricultural expansion whose diverse production of food constitutes an important part of the Colombian economy. The agricultural sector contributed 14% of GDP, excluding coffee, with a production worth almost 11 billion US. In the hot lowlands of the Caribbean heartland, the inter-montages valleys, and the savannas of Orinoquia, there are immense plantations of bananas, sugar cane, rice, cotton, soybeans and sorghum, and large cattle farms that produce meat and dairy products. The country’s climate is tropical along the coast with some low temperatures in high elevations and tropical Amazonian jungle lowlands. The natural resources of the Ecuador are petroleum, fish, timber and hydropower. This country has a population of 15,492,000 inhabitants. The country’s official language is Spanish but they have some Amerindian languages such as Quechua spoken by some Indian tribes (Geography, 2005). Government The Republic of Ecuador has a republic government.

There are many different things about Colombia and the US, but also there are similar things about the two countries too. Have you ever heard of the musician Oreste Sindici? Oreste Sindici wrote “¡Oh Gloria Inmarcesible!” which translates to Oh Unfading Glory. “¡Oh Gloria Inmarcesible!” is the Colombian national anthem. The U.S. national anthem was written by Francis Scott Key. The US national anthem is called “The Star Spangled Banner”. There are different and similar traditions in the U.S. and Colombia as well. Those may include meals, how the holidays are celebrated, and what the sports are that are played in the countries.
I am really enjoying Colombia. When I landed in Bogota and the first thing I saw was mountains and valleys everywhere. In some of the valleys, there were rivers running through them. On my way down the mountain, I say the Magdalena River. After I got down the mountain, I started to head for Cali. About halfway to Cali, I ran into some people who were playing futbol,or as we call it, soccer. It was a great day to play. The sun was shining and the temperature was 82 degrees. I scored a hat trick and I had 10 saves. When I got to Cali, I bought some bananas, pizza, and lemonade. I rented a room for the night. I went inside and ate my food. Then I watched TV until 11:00. The next morning, I traveled to Cartagena to visit the Spanish
