“Innocence of Muslims” Through analyzing the work “innocents of Muslims” by film producer nakoula I intend to find out how a text can be read and interpreted differently by two different readers. I also intend to explore to what extent people have freedom of speech when it gets in the way of others and their beliefs, how the text brought upon outrage in the Muslim community, and why internet censorship is necessary or not if a reader is offended by their interpretation of the text. We may think that we are entitled to freedom of speech through our first amendment rights, but are we truly? Be lined up for days in order to protest to have this video taken down because they said it was demeaning and unjust but by protesting this they are asking the government to tell others that cannot say or do hurtful things but isn’t that what freedom of speech is ? No matter what it is you are allowed to speak your mind whether it is your own bias opinion on a group of people or not we are entitled to freedom over our words and thoughts.
