In the 21st century engineering has a vital impact on our lives. It is almost everywhere you look. It gives a chance to make the world a safer, better and more exciting place to live. This fills me with a desire to be a part of this.
There are many factors that helped me to make my decision to pursue a career in engineering. Since an early age I have been fascinated by how things around me work. In my childhood I spent a lot time with my grandad, who was a car mechanic. He loved to share his knowledge with me which helped me at school. My fascination has not worn away over the years mainly due to my uncle's experience as an engineer, as he built an underground rail system in Warsaw. Many times he has taken me with him to his workplace and I have noticed that all the engineers are dedicated people who try to improve the world that we live in.
I see myself as a mature individual and I would like to increase my knowledge on engineering by entering into the world of Higher Education. This will lead me to have more complex studies, both theoretical and practical. I believe I am fully prepared physically and mentally to make this move. I am very disciplined and well-organized person and I always try to do my best to have the work

All of those subjects have a link to Engineering which is creating new projects and improving efficiency of the materials. I have especially enjoyed creating my project for Graphic Communication and taking part in many experiments in Physics. By my successful time management I am capable of meeting deadlines and deliver top quality work and at the same time allow myself to undertake extracurricular activities. As a prefect I tried to be a role model for younger people, in both appearance and attitude. I know this does not make me extraordinary, but my good time keeping, good behaviour and mutual respect for others means that I am a respected
...rs across the broad spectrum are a testament to what people should strive to be. Engineers have proven that through integrity, tenacity, and dedication a country can be formed. Engineers will always be ready for the next mission. They wait only for someone to let them try. Essayons!
Entering college, I heard a quote that said: “what you do in your twenty’s will determine the rest of your life.” After hearing it, I had to ensure that my entire college experience will be very beneficial for my future. When deciding on a major, I looked back in my life to see what skills I was proficient in and also discuss with adults on how they feel about the career they were positioned in at the time. After receiving the great feedback from people who are long in their career and reflecting on my life to figure out my passion, I decided to pursue the major in Mechanical Engineering Technology. I came to this conclusion by knowing I am very well with my hands, I love math, and I am always intrigued with new technology. My father also
Engineering is an occupation that deals with the building and designing of new or improved products. To succeed in the field you have to skills in science, math and technology. You must also be able to look at problems from a creative perspective to solve them. The unique challenge this poses is what draws me to the field.
In my life as a student I believe that success, as an engineer in this day and age, requires technical competence and a combination of leadership, communication, and management. I am fortunate that I have gained much of these skills when I was elected and duly appointed as one of the Student's Representative Council (SRC) members in my high school. Being a leader, I have learned and trained myself the importance to have a good discipline, communication and managing skills. With that good foundation at high school I hope to reach academic excellence, leadership and a deeper understanding of the world in which I live when I experience university life through dedication, maximum effort, and hard work and eventually participating and contributing towards university’s strategic plan of global excellence education. Therefore, with the commitment that I put on the university I hope it will cultivate the university diverse and inclusive community.

Since starting high school, I knew my passion was to become an engineer, but I wanted myself to have additional options to choose rather than merely walk a linear line I wanted to test my abilities and see precisely how much I can handle. Therefore, I started filling up my high school schedule with AP and pre-AP classes, not because I wanted to show them off for future universities that I plan to go to like my classmates but just for the sole purpose of seeing how much I can handle and keep on going. Although my grades started falling below par I did not give up and started looking wherefore I could do next, and my perception fell on taking dual credit classes during my summer break and get a head start on my academic career. Subsequently to that summer, I applied for an early college high school program for my concluding two years of high school and got in.
When presented with the opportunity to leave the world in a better place compared to when you entered it is an opportunity that cannot be passed up. A career as an engineer allows me to achieve my goal in life, which is to ultimately help people. I decided in my sophomore year of high school that I wanted to become a Chemical Engineer. Engineers help people and change the world, which is exactly what I dream of doing. I will strive to learn to design and analyze products and systems that transform raw materials into materials like life-saving medicines, innovative renewable energy sources, and more. All of these things improve products and enhance lives. I want to have an impact on the world by working to improve the quality of people's lives. Most items used by people everyday have needed chemical engineers to produce them. I can help end starvation, disease and poverty as well as help to save the environment by developing alternative technologies to combat acid rain, lead pollution and the greenhouse effect. Chemical engineers have also led the way in creating innovative materials that have been used to deliver drugs more effectively. The possibilities to do
According to dictionary.com,” Mechanical Engineering is the branch of engineering dealing with the design, construction, and use of machines.” Their job is to take an idea and actually make it happen. Doing this takes a lot of knowledge and skills. They first start off with an idea that they have. Then they try to make a small module of it. They do this so they know what the product will work without spending a lot of money on it. They have to find the right materials to do this. The materials have to be able to withstand a lot of things nature has to throw at it. Like rain, dust, lightening, and many more things. After they have to make sure the produce is safe. When all of this is done they build the real thing.
Everywhere I go, I'm always questioning and analyzing what I am looking at. I ask myself these questions: How does it work? What makes it work? Why does it work? As far as I can remember I have always been this type of person. When I was in Ecuador, I would always buy toys just to take them apart. I always watched in awe as I saw the gears moved like planets in the solar system. After taking apart the different toys, I would put them back together so that I could make my own toys. Every day was a great journey because there was always something to learn, something that I could look forward to. Sadly, one day my grandfather had a severe stroke and he wasn’t able to provide for us anymore. My parents immediately brought me to the U.S. where
I love solving problems and being challenged intellectually. Therefore, discovering the solution to a difficult problem provides a sense of accomplishment. It is extraordinary how numbers intermingle and enables one to view the world in new ways. As a young student, I demonstrated a strong sense of academic excellence with a passion for math and science. As a matter of fact, my peers voted me “most likely to find a cure for cancer”. Admittedly, at the time, I voiced extreme disappointment because, like all fifth graders I hoped to be voted the rock star, actor, or Olympic medalist. Although, in retrospect, that vote fits well with my desire to become a chemical engineer. Furthermore, engineering not only satisfies my intellectual curiosity,
To live a good life, as a person and as a professional, engineers must find the perfect balance between living and working both independently and proactively, while maintaining interdependent personal and professional relationships. Furthermore, engineers should continuously seek opportunities for them to use their knowledge and expertise in ways that benefit mankind. This balance in an engineer's personal and professional lifestyle grants a level of self-actualization that will propel him to a happy and fulfilling life. Continuous self-improvement, empowering those around you and the giving of yourself to worthy causes are the keys that will help you achieve the good life.
Possessing the basic knowledge in the field of physical sciences and the intuition in them made me to pick up Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as my majors for the Higher Secondary Education. After the completion of my secondary education, I felt that engineering was the only field which can transform and transfer my dreams in the field of sciences into a real one and also it would give me an opportunity to learn and explore how the fundamentals of science are appl...
