As a student pursuing a Master's degree at Florida International University, I am aware of the future benefits of receiving a degree of this caliber in regards to career opportunities and compensation. FIU offers a variety of degree programs ranging from bachelor's to doctorates and professional degrees. However, there are existing programs that should be offered at a higher degree level which would significantly benefit graduate students and the university. One particular program that should most certainly be offered to students is a Masters degree in Health Services Administration. The university as well as graduate students are mutually being deprived of a great opportunity, therefore I am writing this memo in efforts to implement a Master's degree program in Health Services Administration for the Nicole Weirtheim College of Nursing & Health Sciences. Current Situation Florida International University is currently in the midst of the country's biggest universities and it is evident that it will continue to augment in size. With the ongoing construction of new buildings to accommodate additional classrooms, student living, and parking garages it is without a doubt that student enrollment will gradually increase over the upcoming years. It is for this reason that it is imperative to put forward additional degree programs to students. Florida International Universities' school of Nursing and Health Sciences offers a bachelors degree program in Health Services Administration but does not offer students this degree at a Master level. This particular degree has become gradually more prominent over the years and numerous accredited universities throughout the nation offer this program as a master's degree for this reason. According... ... middle of paper ... ... fact positive as it can lead to further expansion. The staff and classrooms are currently present, all that needs to be done is have the College of Nursing & Health Sciences board execute the Master's degree program in Health Services Administration. Going Forward The implementation of a Master's degree in Health Services Administration would be greatly beneficial to students as well as Florida International University and action should be taken. University enrollment could gradually increase, and students will be further prepared for their careers. If and when the program is implemented, current undergraduate students should be made of aware of this opportunity prior to receiving their bachelors degree in order to commence enrollment. Please take this proposal into deliberation, and feel free to contact me in regards to any additional information. Thank You
