Political
Muslim as individual and community also faced challenges in terms of political matter. It can be proved when there are no official figures to indicate how many Muslims live in Sweden. This is because the authorities refuse to publish the statistics on religion and culture. Due to that, there is a difficulty for researchers and analysts to know about the number of Muslim born, population’s composition, living condition and many more. Up to the year 2013, the country is welcoming the immigrant to move into Sweden and the immigrant policies more open than other countries like Denmark, Canada and other countries. However, in February on the same year, the Minister of Immigration was intended to limit the volume of immigrants. This is because Muslim population in Sweden has double increase for the last 14 years.
Another challenges faced is regarding the law of banning Muslim women and students from wearing headscarf in public school and public place. For students, it also affects the law in schools around 2004 and it was extended in April 2011. Latest in November 2013, there is Muslim women even brought this case against the prohibition to the European Court of Human Rights.
There is also controversy regarding the political issues. One of them is regarding the demand on special legislation for Muslims in Sweden. The legislation includes Islamic holidays, public financing to build Mosques, Imam’s authority to approve all divorces between Muslim couples and permission for Imams to teach Islam in public schools. However this request was rejected by all political parties and the government.

The article above “Modern-Day Witch Hunts” would fit greatly into Perspective. I agree with this article in the fact that Muslims have been treated unfairly since 9/11. I have heard many people say back home that Muslims were responsible for the plane crashing into the World Trade center. America practices the right to the freedom of religion. Muslims, Sikhs, and many other religious affiliations have often been targeted for hate crimes, racial slurs, and misfortunate events. We are all different in our own ways some are good and some are bad yet one event changes everything for everyone affiliated with the group. The book The Politics of the Veil by Joan Scott a renowned pioneer in gender studies gives a detailed and analytical book of about the French views towards the Muslim females in France during 2004. The author talks about why the French governments official embargo of wearing conspicuous signs is mainly towards the headscarves for Muslim girls under the age of eighteen in public schools. The main themes of book are gender inequality, sexism, and cultural inequality historical schools used in the book are history of below, woman’s history, cultural history, and political history. Before the September 11, 2001 bombings, not much social psychological research had focused on Muslim-Americans. As a result of the attack, Muslims quickly became a salient group in American society. At the unfortunate expense of prejudice towards Muslims, 9/11 also led to an increase in research regarding Muslim-Americans (Amer and Bagasra, 2013). Therefore, in analyzing the intergroup relationship between Muslim-Americans and White-Americans we will use 9/11 as the origin of group conflict. Before discussing the driving theories behind the intergroup relationship, it is important to note a certain level of ambiguity in the definition of these groups. We are aware that some Muslim-Americans may in fact also be White (mainly due to religious conversion). Therefore as an operational group, when referring to White-Americans we mean to indicate non-Muslim White Americans.
Islam, a religion of people submitting to one God, seeking peace and a way of life without sin, is always misunderstood throughout the world. What some consider act of bigotry, others believe it to be the lack of education and wrong portrayal of events in media; however, one cannot not justify the so little knowledge that America and Americans have about Islam and Muslims. Historically there are have been myths, many attacks on Islam and much confusion between Islam as a religion and Middle Easter culture that is always associated with it. This paper is meant to dispel, or rather educate about the big issues that plague people’s minds with false ideas and this will only be touching the surface.
Muslim children face high level of discrimination at their schools as they are welcomed with negative comments about their religion by the children of other religions. Though abnormal but normally Muslim students are labeled as Terrorists and they are often verbally coerced and mocked to migrate back to their native countries. The overall conclusion can be drawn as the study that United States suffered a lot during the attacks of 9/11 but the ones who are still facing the aftermath of that incident are the Muslims around the globe and especially those present in United States. Various reasons other than 9/11 attacks behind Muslim stigmatization around globe include stereotyping against Muslims in terms of non-flexibility, uncommon culture, simple life style and aggressive behavior.

There are many misconceptions regarding Islam and Muslims. In reality most Muslims are non-Arabs and most live outside the Middle East. There are five million Muslims in the United States. There are an estimated 10,000-15,000 Muslims in the area.

A great event back in the 19th century, were the speech from Abraham Lincoln to declare the slaves free. But still, he didn't want them to have the same social and political rights. The situation got better for the colored people in some parts of the world, but not the same as the white people. This case repeats itself after Luther Martin King had made his famous speech “I have a dream”. The situation got better for colored people, but there was still hatred against colored people, including Sweden.
