Thesis/Intro

Homelessness is a growing epidemic across the country. Over 2 million people are homeless in America, and that number is increasing. 40% are families with kids, 30% are drug and/or alcohol addicts, 23% are mentally ill and 10% are veterans (Triplett, 2004, para. 1). This terrible misfortune has led to many unsuspecting people leading impoverished lifestyles, and facing the horrific and heart-wrenching tragedy of abandonment. The purpose of this essay is to not only persuade the readers to get involved in ending homelessness on local and national efforts, but to embrace new and creative ways of helping to end this rapidly growing problem, by taking action to end this catastrophic situation. Also, the causes and effects of why the homeless resort to violence, will be demonstrated by using comparison and contrast to examine the views and standpoints on helping the forgotten, so that we might end this calamity once and for all. In an increasingly interconnected world, your actions matter more than ever. You can make an indelible difference by taking action to end this tragic situation.

Argumentation-Persuasion

Homelessness is a growing epidemic around the world, and poverty is the most common reason most people are forced to face the miserable life of living without shelter. The only way that we can help this unfortunate situation is to take action, and by doing that, we need to know the facts about this unfortunate situation. Over two-million people live in emergency shelters, and transitional housing. With so many people living in poverty, it gives us a better understanding as to why there are so many homeless people today. Conclusion

In conclusion, homelessness has taken a toll on millions of people around the world. Being physically or spiritually deprived of shelter has forced many people to face this gruesome situation. Observing ones stance on the issue, analyzing why the homeless resorts to violence to remedy their problems, and examining new and creative ways of helping the desolate, by implementing new plans to end this unfortunate situation, can provide better lives for the downtrodden and forgotten. No matter who you are, or what you do, everyone is affected by homelessness. Even if you have not experienced losing your dwelling firsthand, there is no doubt that almost every community is stricken with homelessness. Keep in mind that most of us are one paycheck away from being homeless ourselves.
