A new set of school legislation has been put in place regarding cell phones in various parts of the country. These laws state that the use of cell phones is prohibited for students during the school day. An announcement comes on the intercom giving information about an extracurricular activity that that student was hoping to participate in. ...

It would affect their education and get them off task with the internet to explore in. Many students today own cell phones or have access to one weather it is there is or parents. In our society having a cell phones has become second nature, and has become a convenient. Many have accepted the use of these cell phones young and old and use them regularly. Though not all of them are using them for worthy practices. According to an article on a research study in Social Psychology, if a student even has a phone next to them they have a hard time focusing because they may be waiting for a text (Social Psychology, January 2015). According to the study, students who had their cell phone on their desk (turned off), did 20% worse than students who put their cell phones in another room. There are many rules set in place by school districts and administrators against use of cell phones in the class room. These rules span from kindergarten through twelfth grade and into college. Picture this, there has been a school lockdown, the suspect cut the landlines so no one could call the police for a rescue. However, the suspect was captured by the police much faster than he imagined. The last scene wouldn’t have happened if it was one decade ago, because cell phones were not popular in schools then. When it comes to cell phones, some people think they should not be permitted in schools, and other people think they should be permitted in schools.
