Abortion is intentionally putting an end to a human pregnancy. The Catholic Church has very strict views on this subject matter. To begin with one of the Ten Commandments Catholic’s are forced to live by is “You shall not kill” (Exodus 20:13). Taking the life of a baby whether it is in the women’s womb or not is murder in the opinion of a Catholic. If you abort a baby, you are killing a living being in a Catholic eyes, it has potential to walk on this earth one day. “Human life is sacred because from its beginning it involves the creative action of God and it remains forever in a special relationship with the Creator, who is its sole end. God alone is the Lord of life from its beginning until its end: no one can under any circumstances claim for himself the right directly to destroy an innocent human being.” (Vatican) The Vatican is very firm on the issue. God created you and created that baby and you have no right to take anybody out of this world. Human life is so closely regarded, because it’s like portraying all of God’s artwork. We are all God’s creation and nobody has the right to intervene in the birth of one of God’s creations.
We’ve come to a point now where abortion is legal so now people questions if the church has changed their views? They respond by first telling everyone contemplating abortion that abortion conflicts with moral law. If they don’t feel as if they are violating any of their morals the church goes on to declare that “You shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the new born baby to perish” (Vatican).Which tells anyone contemplating it that under no circumstance is it ever acceptable whether the government has made it legal or not it is still illegal under the Commandments of Catholics...

...lley abortions or do it themselves, but that is like saying that we should make drugs legal so people will stop buying them out of back alleys and dying. Sounds stupid doesn’t it? It’s because it is abortion is erroneous. Abortion is murder point blank. That baby did nothing it is innocent it is the definition of innocence. Sadly though abortion has become way too common in America since Roe v. Wade’s reckless court ruling. Abortion is wrong you have to realize you are killing a human being. You never will know what the future of that baby could’ve amounted to it may have been the next president or the one to find the cure for cancer.

Abortion may not be a personal choice but it is a grave offense against The Creator and His creation. Being pro-life has always been an issue in religion and primary in its statuses have been Catholics across the country. Church teaching on abortion is clear and unequivocal. There are no omissions or compromises. If you believe in living life, abortion should never be an option. "Pregnancy termination" stops the beating heart of a growing human being and is basically reversing the most basic principle of human nature. It leaves America out to be a country that is unable to replicate itself without the support of immigration. You were once a child that lived life breathed air. But now you are an abortionist, a person that kills babies. If you don’t feel bad about your deeds, then I will for you. You couldn’t possibly abort a child & feel like it was the 100% positive & perfect thing to do. You couldn’t possibly feel “productive” afterwards. Even though this may not...
The Roman Catholic Catechism teaches that at the moment a sperm enters an egg, a life is formed, so, “a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person” (“Catechism of the Catholic Church”). The Church also condemns abortion for any reason, because it is considered murder, a crime, a grave evil, and a mortal sin. Also, elective abortion for personal or social convenience is forbidden by some religious groups, but many religious denominations believe that there are certain circumstances where abortion is justified: “... a pregnancy that threatens the life of the mother or that has come about as the result of rape or incest” ("Religious Groups’ Official Positions on Abortion"). Such a view is sanctioned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; Episcopal Church; Evangelical Lutheran Church; Hinduism; Islam; and Judaism. Although there is conflict between religious denominations over the issue on what is morally right on abortion, many agree on the importance of the well being of the mother in considering whether or not it is ethically right to
What is abortion? Abortion is the direct and purposeful taking of the life of a human being inside the womb. The church teaches that abortion is forbidden just as murder is forbidden. As Catholics we believe that all life is sacred from the moment of conception till death, and the killing of a human being unborn or born is morally wrong and we are to go against abortion.
I agree with Jennifer’s stance on abortion. I do not believe it is right for the Catholic Church to be telling women that they must keep their baby. It is a personal choice, and women are given the freedom to make their own decision. I am not saying that everyone should get an abortion, but if a woman was raped for example, she should not have to keep that child. That child may be difficult for the women to cope with and may even be neglected. I do not believe the Church has the ability to take away rights for
Church Views on Abortion Roman Catholics believe abortion is always wrong as it goes against the natural process of childbirth and therefore against the will of God. I am a God The strongest biblical evidence used against abortion is the prohibition to commit murder (Exodus 20:13) and the teaching that it. is God alone who should be the giver and taker of life. he himself gives all [people] life and breath and everything else. Acts 17:25 (NIV)).
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I
In 1990, the number of abortions in the U.S increased in number to 1.55 million a year and remained at this level for about 10 years(NRLC 2). After all this time, it seems that mankind has finally started to realize the dignity of a human person. The Catholic Church teaches formal participation in the act of an abortion is a grave offense and that since the time of the First Century, the Church has declared righteous evil of every performed abortion(Catechism of the Catholic Church 548). The Catholic moral law of the church is that "You shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the newborn to perish. God, the Lord of Life, has entrusted to men the noble mission of safeguarding life, and men mus...
For many years, the morality of abortion has been questioned by two perspectives: pro-choice and pro-life. While modern culture explains that abortion is a woman’s free choice if she does not want the unborn baby, the Catholic Church teaches the world that from the moment of conception there is a child with a soul within the womb, and to abort it would be to murder an innocent being.
In Closing, abortion needs to be reversed and made illegal with the upmost urgency. Approximately 55,772,015 young and promising lives were unjustly ended between now and 1973. These young lives were on the path to flourishing into beautiful people and now because of America’s abortion laws, never got to even see the light of day. If you think you are responsible enough to have sex then you better realize and comprehend the responsibility that comes with it. Simply understand that you are engaging in the act of creating new life. So if by “accident” you get pregnant, don’t just go and kill a helpless and innocent human being, get over your selfish self and own up to your new responsibilities as a parent.
Christian Teaching About Abortion Abortion is the premature expulsion of the foetus from the womb. There can be a number of reasons why people have abortions, either social or. medical reasons. Social reasons for teenage pregnancies. When there is no financial support, when pregnancy is inconvenient e.g. somebody is doing a good job and could lose it.
Second of all, I do not believe in abortion because Catholics believe that it is killing a live human being inside of a women’s stomach. Catholics believe that once a female is pregnant, she has a live human being inside of her stomach. I actually know someone whose daughter aborted her fetus and ever since then, her dad had
As a Catholic Pro-Life supporter, it is my job to stand for life, and to respect and defend life always and everywhere, including unborn children. As Pope Francis exclaimed to all the Catholics of the world. Also Pope Benedict XVI urged us to support the women who may resort to abortion as a way out of the fear, anxiety, and embarrassment of have an accident child conceived, but let me set one abstraction straight; The way I see it an accident is none existing. God has a plan for everyone, and by using abortion it end the chance of the baby ever becoming something great.
The question "Why was abortion condemned in Catholicism?" was answered by Catholic theorist James McCarthy: "Many people believe that the Roman Catholic Church's opposition to abortion stems from its conviction that a new human person exists from the first moment of conception and that this newly formed person has as muc...
Abortions violate the sixth commandment from God, “Thou shall not kill.” Women are killing a human being while they’re aborting their “mistake.” Plus the doctors carrying out the procedure are breaking the Hippocratic Oath. Doctors take it and it states “First do no harm” and in my opinion abortion is harm to a human being and the child’s mother.
As stated multiple times; Psalm 139:13-16, speaks of God’s active role in or creation and formation in the womb, therefore this states God makes all fetus/ people for a certain reason and this means God does not want abortion otherwise why would he make them. Exodus 21:22-25, prescribes the same penalty, death, for someone who causes the death of a baby in the womb as for someone who commits murder, this clearly indicates that God then considers a fetus/ baby in the womb as to be the same as a full-grown adult, this then means God indicates abortion is wrong. Christian’s beliefs of abortion is it not a matter of a woman’s right to choose, it is a matter of the life or death of a human being made in God’s image, Genesis 1:26-27, 9:6. The first argument that fights against the Christian stance on abortion is “What about cases of rape and/or incest?” two wrongs do not make a right. The child who is born of rape/incest could be given in adoption to a loving family and are unable to have children on their own. The baby is innocent therefore should not be punished for the acts of its father. The Roman Catholic Church says abortion is a grave moral wrong. As based on the written word of God and natural law, as they prohibit abortion under any circumstances, "You shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the new born to perish". As
