People often get caught up in the idea of capital punishment and what it means to others. For some individuals, it is a good feeling to see others suffer for their crimes. Meanwhile, others view the consequences as quite horrendous. I believe if an individual commits a serious crime, he or she should prepare to suffer the consequences. So strong is the desire to make others suffer for their crimes, we loose sight of what is right and wrong.

For the time being, capital punishment is the method used to punish criminals for crimes they commit. For instance, capital punishment is used as a punishment to treat a murder case or some other serious crime. By issuing capital punishment against criminals, law enforcements are letting criminals know the consequences for their actions. People are hopeful criminals will change their minds regarding committing serious crimes when they know what may happen to them. With this in mind, there are multiple perspectives concerning capital punishment.

With the opinion of multiple authors present, individuals are left to make their own decision concerning the rights of capital punishment. To begin with, Lydia Child is the author of Against Capital Punishment; Child has a negative view towards those associated in supporting capital punishment. With this in mind, Child believes human life is a sacred gift and should not be discriminated against. In addition, Walter Rodgers expresses his feeling throughout the article America’s New Drug of Choice: Revenge. Rodgers reminds citizens life is not all about vengeance. Also, Rodgers reminds people about the history of executing innocent people in our nation. The two previous authors show a few perspectives regarding capital punishment.

...ence to serious crimes, I am concerned about the aspects leading up to capital punishment. Therefore, if individuals are in prison for life, or they have committed a serious crime, I believe they should be ready to take responsibility for their actions.

Capital punishment is a treatment which continues being used in today’s society. After looking over the statements about capital punishment, a person is left to make an informative decision. Whether capital punishment continues in our nation or not is up to the citizens. Since we see capital punishment happening today, in newspapers, on TV, and on the Internet, we are surrounded by resources influencing our choices. People must not get caught up in public ads displaying capital punishment. Individuals are left to make a decision for themselves, whether capital punishment is the correct consequence or not.
