Boeing has five divisions: Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), the civil and commercial airliner division; Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), the military and space division; Boeing Capital Corporation, a global provider of financing solutions; the Shared Services Group, which provides a broad range of services to Boeing worldwide; and Boeing Engineering, Operations & Technology, which helps develop, acquire, apply and protect innovative technologies and processes. William E. Boeing founded Boeing on July 15, 1916 under the name Pacific Aero Products Company (The Boeing Company, 2014). Boeing’s first commercial aircraft was Model 40A, which were came in 1927 and used to delivery mail for U.S. Postal Services (The Boeing Company, 2014). Airplane development progressed slowly until World War I (Cook, 2008).
