BlackBerry is located in a fast growing economy, Waterloo, Ontario. This is also located next to the world famous University of Waterloo. Many questions have been asked about BlackBerry and how they got to be a multi-million dollar company. Our main concern with BlackBerry, is that, Why does their market share price keep going down? Within this report we will explain some organizational issues that can point out problems that occurred within the company. We’ve brought together the finest of business managers to conduct this research and bring the information forward for our audience to indulge in. First is first, beginning with some background and current information of the company to get an idea of where BlackBerry stands. As well as what industry BlackBerry lies within. A short summary of BlackBerry’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats will also be conducted. Also, a few organizational behavior concepts will be used as part of the analysis. Information analyzed will be included in job satisfaction, organizational culture, organizational structure, and effectiveness of organizational communication process. Job satisfaction goes on to tell the reader about how productivity will increase if everyone is satisfied within different aspects of the company. Organizational culture is about the type of market the company is involved in. Organizational structure basically defines how the company is structured and what their objectives are as a whole. Last, effectiveness of organizational communication process concludes the way the company portrays their product to the general population. BlackBerry was fortunate enough to capture the eye of the common consumer and was able to sell and produce phones at mass. BlackBerry’s main goal was to ensure great market share, but that all came to an end when Apple and Samsung entered into the market with new and improved technology. BlackBerry could not keep up with the vast transformation of the market, and later fell to nothing. A recommendation to BlackBerry would be to fall back on the consumer market and aim towards more of a business and government market. BlackBerry already has their footprint in the market of high secured devices. BlackBerry should also decide to close their company from the public and go private, as they are no longer a profitable company within the general consumer population.
