The poet I choose was famous for her increasing optimism in her work and uplifting words. Her work is very motivational. Not only did she write poetry but also many prose writing as well. She’s known for writing things like hope over despair, victory over failure, good over evil or kindness over selfishness. Making her an interesting and very unique, optimistic writer/poet and journalist. Like any artist does beauties with their paint brush she also did with her pen. She was an artist of the Rosicrucian movement in the 20th century in America.
“The new thought poetess” better known as Ella Wheeler born November 5, 1850. In the village of Johnstown, Rocky County, Wisconsin. Daughter of Marcus H. Wheeler and Sarah Pratt wheeler; Ella was the youngest of two brothers and two sisters. The wheelers in 1852 settled in Dane county, Wisconsin in the town of Westport. That is where Ella grew up and in the home she builds up her reputation as a writer/poet. Ever since she was very young she was a avid reader of popular literature especially the novels of E.D.E.N. Southworth, Mary Jane Holmes and Ouida. “The new poetess” wrote her first prose and rhyme when she was 8 years old and at the age of 14 she published her first poem for the New York Mercury Newspaper. After that her poems were being published in the “Waverly magazine and Leslies weekly”. Her early life was not easy because her and her family had a hard time economically therefore she sold some of her poems. She went to school in a district school that now is named after her. She also attended the University of Wisconsin (UW-Madison). But she did not last she dropped out fairly quickly because she saw it as “a waste of time”. If you are cheerful others will want you but once that changes to worse then you will be left alone and only a few will stand next to you along the way. No one will say no when you invite them to have fun and party but when it comes to be grieving you will be left alone and no one will try to be with you. When we are in a hard time we have to go through the hard time alone because people are cowards when it comes to being sad they only want good times.Have fun and enjoy life and many other will join you but if you are sad all the time then you will be left by yourself. Only one self can control our lives and sooner or later our lives will not be perfect and it never will be either. Everyone no matter their status will suffer and go through something that will cause them pain.
