Jeffrey Dahmer was a crazy, weird, and psychotic person, as many people already know. Dahmer is one of the most well known serial killers in the history of the United States. Not only people from the United States recognize the name Jeffrey Dahmer, but also everyone in the entire world recognizes his name.
It is said that Dahmer had an average childhood. He was born on May 21, 1960 in West Allis, Wisconsin, a suburb of Milwaukee. His parents were Joyce and Lionel Dahmer. Dahmer was a normal child growing up until the age six. When he was six, he had minor surgery to correct a double hernia. Some people believe because of the surgery and the birth of his younger brother, Dahmer became more narrowed-minded and started to lack self-confidence. To make matters worse, his father’s job prompted his family to move from Iowa to Ohio. Initially, it all started to change at the age of ten years old when his parents started to notice that Dahmer was starting to drift away from people and keep to himself more. When other kids would be outside playing basketball, baseball, physical sports that normal kids would participate in, Jeffrey would keep to himself. Rather than being involved with the other children, he loved to play with dead animals and use chemicals to watch animals dissolve and decompose. At the age of fifteen one of his friends said that he would look for dead animals and collect the bodies in black garbage trash bags for his own private cemetery. Furthermore, "He would strip the flesh from the bodies of these putrescent road kills and even mount a dog's head on a stake" (Bardsley).
