Henry Ford
Henry Ford was born on July 30, 1863, near Dearborn, Michigan. Henry Ford create the Model T car in 1908 and went on to develop the assembly line mode of production, which transformed the industry. As a result, Ford sold millions of cars and became a famous company (http://www.biography.com/people/henry-ford-9298747).
When Henry Ford was young, he was born on his family’s farm in Wayne County, near Dearborn, Michigan. When he was twelve, his mother died during childbirth. Then for the rest of his life, he tried to live his life as he believed his mother would have wanted. Although close to his mother, Henry had a strained relationship with his father. While his father hoped Henry would someday take over the family farm (http://www.biography.com/people/henry-ford-9298747).
From an early age, Henry loved to take stuff apart and put it back together again just to only see how it worked. He was given a watch by his father at age 15. This was when he mainly adapted how to take stuff apart and put it back together again. Since Henry was good with watches, neighbors and friends would bring him their broken watch so that he would fix their watch. Henry’s main passion was machines. Henry believed that machines could make life of farmers easier by replacing farm animals. At age 17, Henry Ford left the farm and headed to Detroit to become an apprentice (http://www.biography.com/people/henry-ford-9298747).
In 1882, Henry finished his apprenticeship and was a machinist. Westinghouse hired Henry to demonstrate and operate their steam engines on nearby farms during the summers. In 1938 and in 1941, Henry was suffering from strokes.
