Che Guevara met an undignified death in a dilapidated school house in Bolivia, at the hands of a CIA backed counter revolution. The generation that would see him the most had not been born yet, and many of that generation would not know why this well drawn face is on hats, shirts and posters at Hot Topic. They won't know the face was communism's last best hope, shot down after the imperialist world joined forces to crush the possibility of true communism in the known world. Adolescence Ernesto Guevara de la Serna was born in Rosario, Argentina, on June 14th, 1928. He was the eldest of five children, and was of Irish and Spanish decent. He was a ferocious and avid rugby player, despite being asthmatic. His ferocity earned him the nickname "Fuserh, a slang for the raging. Like many Latin American adolescents of his generation, he was enthusiastic about poetry, writing and reading it. He was also a zealous reader, and loved everything from Jack London to Sigmund Freud(Wikipedia). Motorcycle Diaries In 1952(The Motorcycle Diaries), a semester before he would receive his doctorate, Ernesto decided to go on a cross continent motorcycle trip with a long time friend and biochemist, Alberto Granado. Che's trip was life changing. His trip was very rough- they lost their tent early in the trip, and had to ask complete strangers for places to sleep. In his travels he saw the poor and oppressed, in particular a day or two spent with a homeless communist couple, who's land was repossesed by a land speculator and had to leave their son behind and go on the run looking for work(The Motorcycle Diaries). Ernesto and Alberto volunteered at a leper colony on the Amazon. When they went to treat the lepers on the other side of the river, they were ordered to wear gloves, which wouldn't actually make a difference, and was really more of a symbol of segragation. To the anger of the nuns who ran the colony, they refused to wear the gloves, and shook the hands of everyone they met. One of the nuns would later refuse to feed them(The Motorcycle Diaries). On his brithday and final day at the colony, Ernesto made a toast to a united South America, to the stunned silence of his party. Ernesto Miranda was born March 19, 1941 and died January 31st, 1976. He committed his first serious crime in eighth grade, and was convicted of felony burglary. He was sentenced to one year in reform school, in his case, Arizona State Industrial School for Boys. After being released from a separate sentence from the reform school, Miranda moved to Los Angeles. While in L.A. Ernesto was arrested for lack of supervision, violating curfew and being a “peeping tom”. He was in custody for forty-five days in the county detention home. Miranda enlisted in the United States Army at the age of approximately 19 on September 03, 1946. Ernesto was a private in the Philippine Scouts branch of the Philippine Scouts during World War II.
Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman Loera was born on April 4, 1957 in Sinaloa, Mexico. He was born into a poor family in a rural community. His parents are Emilio Guzman Bustillos and Maria Consuelo Loera Perez. For numerous generations, his family’s legacy lived and died in La Tuna, Sinaloa. Although a number of myths about his father being an opium farmer have not been proven, he was actually a cattle rancher. Guzman has two younger sisters and four younger brothers. As a child, Guzman had a responsibility of selling oranges. In fact, he dropped out of school in the third grade to work for his father. Although his father physically abused him and treated him brutal, he stood up to his father when it came to his younger siblings for their own protection.

Through his first-hand observations of the severe poverty, oppression, and powerlessness of the masses, Guevara decided that the only remedy for Latin America's economic and social inequities lay in revolution. His travels also inspired him to look upon Latin America not as a collection of separate nations, but as a single cultural and economic entity whose liberation would require an intercontinental strategy.
He then went into exile in Mexico, where he trained and assembled the 26th of July Movement. He gained support from Che Guevara and others before leaving aboard the Granma to invade Cuba in 1956.
All in all, Fidel Castro had both good parts of his life, and bad one’s too. He had the biggest impact on America than any other person has. Even though he hasn’t did anything to help America, he did almost have use go through a third world war. If it wasn’t for Castro, if it wasn’t for his uprising, Russia would of sent a nuclear missile to us someday, and we wouldn’t be alive. You can say, without the missile crisis happening that early, we would of experience an Armageddon, would be living in a recovering post apocalyptic world. And without the Castro impact to this world, nations in Africa wouldn’t be freed, and Cuba would of had an even worst uprising.

Although the distrust and resentment among the United States and Cuba stays intact with the embargo around the island, Fidel Castro is still seen as an incredibly significant historical figure during the post World War II era.

In the beginning, Cesar Chavez started having a hard life ever since he was young. He was born on March 31, 1927 in San Luis Arizona, near Yuma. He had two brothers and two sisters. He started working at a young age after his family lost their ranch on an economic crisis. As a consequence, they moved and started living in a barrio, which was a poor area of town in San Jose, California and they started living as immigrants. Later, he left school in order to start working with his family in fields and, in a way, start supporting his family. They used to move from farm to farm in look for more fields to harvest, so they could get more money. When he was seventeen he enlisted into the United States Navy and served for two years. At his return, in 1948, he married the love of his life, Helen Fabela, and eventually years later they had eight children together.

On July 26th 1953, Fidel Castro led an attack on the Moncada Barracks. This one event is thought to be the start of the Cuban Revolution and also the event that became the name for Castro’s movement (Movimiento 26 Julio). The attack of the Moncada Barracks also led to the arrest of Fidel Castro. On October 16th 1953, Castro gave a four-hour speech where he served as his own defense against the charges he was being he accused of. He later reconstructed his speech for publication, which became known as History Will Absolve Me. On April 17th, 1961 the Bay of Pigs invasion took place. After Bay of Pigs there was a clear shift in the dynamics in the U.S.- Cuban relationship. The dynamics of this relationship had begun to change from 1953 to 1961 but Bay of Pigs was the event that had far-reaching implications for both Cuba and the United States.
When researching such a controversial figure as Fidel Castro, one has to be very objective. The fact that he is loved and hated by so many and the massive amounts of propaganda associated with him makes it difficult to discover who the true man is. There is ample information concerning his life after the revolution, his relations with the United States, and his iron-fisted rule over Cuba. However, little focus is given to his life before the Cuban Revolution. It is the purpose of this essay to piece together the story of his youth and discover what may have influenced his rise to dictator when only in his thirties.
Francisco Franco was an army general and dictator that ruled over Spain from 1939 until he died in 1975. He made his rise to dictatorship during the Spanish Civil War. Help from Germany and Italy set up his forces to overthrow the Second Republic. Adopting the title of “El Caudillo”, The Leader, Franco persecuted his political opponents and repressed the culture and language of Spain’s regions. He censured the media and took absolute control over the country. If it wasn’t for the lack of involvement in World War II, Franco’s dictatorship may have been brought down or not lasted until his death.
