As Steve Jobs once said, “I have a great respect for incremental improvement, and I've done that sort of thing in my life, but I've always been attracted to the more revolutionary changes. I don't know why. Because they're harder. They're much more stressful emotionally. And you usually go through a period where everybody tells you that you've completely failed” (brainyquotes.com). Bill Gates, like Steve Jobs, wanted to change the world forever, which he did. Bill Gates affected American history through his impact on technology while dealing with positive and negative criticism during a lifetime of success.

William henry “Bill” Gates III is the son of William H. Gates II and Mary Gates. Born and raised in Seattle, Bill always was ahead of the curve when it came to academics. He excelled so much its parents entered him into a lakeside school to advance the rigor of his studies. This is where he used his first computer. He fell in love with the magical programming device and spent many class periods designing and programming his own sorts of games and programs. The first program bill made was a game where you could play tic-tac-toe against the computer. It was quite impressive figuring the kid was only 14 years of age. When Bill was 15, His friend and future business partner Paul Allen and him designed a program called “Traf-o-Data”. It read traffic patterns of Seattle. This is about the time Bill and Paul decided to go into small business programming for companies in exchange for computer time. He is a one of a kind man, daring to move mountains. With his technology improvements to his philanthropic imprint, one of the most successful men to have ever live. He has inspired many people to follow in his footprints, daring to change the world. Without Bill Gates, the world as we know would have never been the same.
