Jeremiah 29:11 says: For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. This quote says to me that God already knows what is going to happen in our lives. We should strive to remain positive and be our best while on the roller coaster he has built for us. In order to be our best, we must lead through being a good moral example, being dependable, and remaining unique as we shine in the community. Everyone was put on this Earth for a special purpose. By being true to ourselves and God, we will discover his purpose for our lives. We should be leaders in the community by being good role models, someone that can always be watched as an example for how to handle situations. You should always be a person that is there to give advice or just be there for support. Being there for your friends or people you come in contact with everyday is what makes you stand out from everybody else and makes you a great person. Being a good role model is important because you never know when someone is watching, and you might be th...
Leadership starts with the person at hand. There are two types of leaders good or bad is a simple way to view it. Leaders can be characterized as someone with charisma, motivated, helpful. However, that’s not always the case. Leader have to understand that they set examples for their followers. Their number one job is to influence relationship among leaders and followers who intend real changes and outcomes that reflect their shared purpose.
It might seem ironic how in such a significant number of cases, the outcome of some specific actions is completely different from what is expected to be. The number of times that you puzzle yourself at how eccentric or unexplainable some causalities seem or how things might go precisely the way you want increases as you grow up. This unusual link of events leads to the ideas of destiny and fate. Some people claim that there is no such way of controlling your life because it has been planned out for you ahead of time in a precise and unchangeable way. Despite every effort and action one cannot escape from his fate. Others believe the complete opposite thing. According to them, your life is a matter of your own choices and decisions, and you are the only owner of your destiny. Marva Maynard Hobbs says that you should watch your thought, for they become words. Watch your words, for they become actions. Watch your actions, for they become habits. Watch your habits, for they become your character. Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny. While in the third chapter of Presbyterian Confession of Faith it is stated that God, from all eternity, did by the most wise and holy counsel of His own will, freely and unchangeably ordain whatsoever come to pass. (Presbyterian Confession of Faith, Chapter 3, Section 1). The contradiction between the two above mentioned quotes is presented similarly by two 24 century old literature works, Sophocles’ Oedipus the King and Aristophanes’ The Clouds.
Proverbs 16:9: The mind of a man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.
I often hear people talk about their purpose in life. The big questions: “What am I doing with my life?” and “why am I here?” seem to echo around me as a constant symphony. Although I still find myself pondering these questions, I know the answer. The answer came on a mission trip to Mexico. It had been a long day, and that evening we all came together in one of the larger rooms; it was simply decorated, but that night I actually took notice. A map took up most of the wall and was shaded red in the areas that had been unreached by Christianity. I was shocked to see how much of the world was red. My eye was then drawn to the verse painted next to the map: “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation” (Mark 16:15). Something happened inside of me at that moment – I knew what I needed to do – I had a purpose. I was twelve years old
God has created me with a specific purpose and with God’s help I know I can discover my true calling. Every one of us has three specific callings:
If you are like most people you strive everyday to be your best self. To be exact most of us consider ourselves to be an ideal citizen who always try to live an ethical life. A part of being our best self is the ability to have moral intent. When you detect an ethical resolution and everything to make that decision is at your fingertips there still must be present an inclination to do the right thing. But every now and again yes, sometimes there could be a glitch or two along the way. Maybe even a warning sign saying trouble up ahead proceed slowly. What if you are encountered with the opportunity of telling a white lie? Something simple as telling a friend that she looks great in that new dress when maybe she should have worn something
The experiences that we go through in our lives happen in a way that God has planned out from the beginning. The order that these happen helps us to meet our objectives when the time is right. Ecclesiastes 3:1 tells us that, “There is an appointed time for everything. And there is time for every event under heaven--.” God has put things in order for us, and even though they might not happen in our time, we need to remember that we may have to wait until God’s time. Finally, God is about to look at our lives and evaluate whether or not the objectives have been met. He puts trials and tests into our lives and looks to see how we will respond to them. When we keep in mind that Christ always needs to be at the front of our minds and in our lives, we will be able to pass these tests with flying colors. As long as we are able to accept Jesus as our Savior, we will be able to pass that final test and live eternally in
Everyone has a different perspective on life, it can help shape how I live my life, and how I perceive things. By thinking positive, and tuning out some of the negatives in my life, I can further succeed on my path to achieve my dreams. By listening to my heart, which continuously tells me what I truly desire in life, and not listening to society and other people’s opinions, it helps me get that much closer to finding out what my goal and purpose is. If we are really focusing on persevering, and not only using the tools and resources we are given, but finding and creating new ones to help guide the way for us, we can truly find what we desire. I believe that we all have a purpose that is unique for each and every one of us, and if we try hard
A few weeks ago someone walked up to me in church and said, “Linda you always do the right thing.” It was something that I never expected, nor ever thought about. Today, someone in Oakland, California just told me the same thing after asking me where I had been for the past year. This time it really made me think. Do we really need a purpose in this life, and does doing the right thing give you power?
The Bible is full of instructions as to how God wants his people to live. It speaks of our relationship with God himself, the place of prayer and his word in our lives, and how to grow in that relationship. It talks about relationships in the home, relationships with other believers, how we should treat our enemies, our attitude to our authoritative figure and employees, what we should do with the gifts God has given us, the virtues we should seek to develop in our characters, our attitude to material possessions, and how we should regard this life in relationship to the next. We don't require any special guidance to find out God's will about these things. All we need to do is read the Bible regularly and prayerfully and seek to obey the things that God teaches us from it. Much of God's will has already been made plain. God gives us the Holy Spirit for the very purpose of enabling us to obey.

I met Carrie my junior year of high school. We did not become friends instantly but gradually over time we started to talk. I was friends with her boyfriend at the time and always was there to talk to him and help him during lunch with any situation that would come up. He always came to talk to me about what was happening in his relationship with Carrie. I tried to give him as much advice as possible without knowing who Carrie was. There was one instant where Carrie was supposable pregnant but would later find out it was a false alarm. They were on and off half of the year, but something would change everything.
“Seek the life to come by means of what God has granted you, but do not neglect your rightful share in this world. Do good to others as God has done good to you.”
As a normal human being I expect that each person is unique. Each person can pool their talent and capabilities to make the world a better place for citizen of earth. So that the citizen will be developed spiritually and enjoy their living in world happily without freed and competition.
“What’s a motto? Nothing, what’s a motto with you?” Have you ever seen the Lion King? Then again, who hasn 't seen it? I grew up watching the Lion King movie as a kid, and as I grew older I learned to understand the values behind the movie. Everybody has their own interpretation of the message Lion King delivers to them. I learned how the movie impacted society in all positive ways through its cultural or religious themes, however it depends on how you yourself grasp the concept. I learned that we are put on this earth for a reason, and everybody has a purpose. I have learned that we choose to fulfill or take the route for what is best to fulfill this purpose is entirely up to you. It may take time to perfect it, but it is yours to claim.
