The Benefits of Movement in Education

The topic I chose to research was Movement Education. Have you every been in an environment in the same seat for hours and notice your self looking around, spacing out and time seeming to never move. Your focus is gone but then your allowed a 10 minute break and when you come back your focus is better then ever. This is what it is like for students in our schools with out movement education. Sitting in a seat for hours is physically tough for anyone to stay interested on any topic. Important breaks with movement involved are necessary for the heaths of are students learning experience. I think this is important for all ages of learning. It is a fact that after 15 minutes of learning it is hard for students to keep focus. Movement education allows students to think cognitively while moving physically which stimulates the brain and body; this allows the student to learn while being active. Being active also does two things for the student it allows them to regain focus while stimulating their brain and it settles the class down by taken some of the unneeded energy. Movement education is crucial especially at a young age. Movement is the architect of the brain, the mind and the body working together to build a non-verbal understanding of life. Working out an being active enhances the strength of your brain. In human development movement is crucial because it is a sensorimotor process. Your mind and body develop at the same time through the socialization process starting as an infant. Movement education is valuable from the start of your life to old age. ...rk. There are a number of ways to apply movement education. As long as you are challenging the students mentally and physically it is movement education. With the information I learned about movement education I know in my classroom it will be enforced and I will try to promote it within my district. The more students become active the stronger their brains will become and the healthier they will be living. By incorporating movement education in the curriculum it will make the learning atmosphere a better place for students to focus and learn any subject.
