According to United Nations Children’s Fund, also known as UNICEF recorded that over 2.1 billion people worldwide are considered to be living in poverty. UNICEF states that those 2.1 billion people are living on less than a United States dollar each day. If you thought that was a large amount of people worldwide that live in tough financial situations, then knowing that 1.6 billion people are living with two dollars or less might be a bit tougher to take in. These numbers combined would almost equal half of the world’s population. What can we do to save these people from poverty? Its simple, just start or continue donating. UNICEF is a huge non profit organization in which donations are highly satisfying each time.

Poverty is defined as someone who is extremely poor. The World Bank Atlas Method calculates GNI which stands for Gross National Income. This method is provided by The World Bank. The World Bank helps poverty in many cases, such as reducing poverty in developing countries by providing them with money and technical expertise. The World Bank Atlas Method calculated that people who make 735 dollars or less per year were considered poor. Some of the poorest countries in the world average out at 735 dollars or less. This average would include all citizens in that country working. Some of the worlds low income countries would include many of the African countries, Chad, Ethiopia, and many more. Even the big country of southern Asia, India, is considered low income!

UNICEF is a strong, recommendable non-profit organization to donate through. They are currently stationed in 190 countries which proves that they aren’t a new organization and very reliable. The United States provides a U.S. Fund for UNICEF as it secures c...
