Most families are partial in their beliefs that are influenced by society’s cues (available places to breastfeed in public) and family traditional norms (whether a family has traditionally participated in breastfeeding or formula feeding; and opinions about the preferred feeding choice in that family) around breastfeeding. Many of these opinions impact the choice and options that the family and new mother have.
