In the docudrama ‘Alinta the Flame’ we observe the effect that white settlers had on a young Aboriginal girl and her tribe the Ayari people. It is obvious that the invaders significantly changed the lives of Alinta and the Ayari people in a very negative way. The Ayari people welcomed white settlers into their land and they took advantage of it, both Mcnab and Finlay eventually betrayed the Ayari people. Ultimately Mr Goodman’s group of white settlers massacred the Ayari people. White settlers defiantly had a detrimental effect on Alinta’s life. Both Finlay and Mcnab eventually betrayed the Ayari people. Finlay and Mcnab appeared the Ayari people were remarkably welcoming towards them. They were very hospital, kind and caring to the men. The Ayari people provided the pair of them with a drink of water. They struggled to communicate with the Ayari people, Finlay made no effort to communicate.
